Good morning my friends and fellow BoBs 😊
On another beautiful day here in old blighty, I thought I'd start of with a rather large bowl of my own blended version of Hobbit Weed, in a Savinelli Hercules 611EX. Because of all the talking of Gurkha's recently, I'm going to use my home made Ghurkha Tamper. This badge is from the Duke of Edinburgh's own Gurkha rifles. I acquired it whilst my Squadron was attached to them on the Falklands campaign in 1982
As always have a great day my friends 😊

Morning fellas. Well aged C&D Three Friars in a Stanwell 1/4 bent dublin. I could and maybe should be all wound up here on a Monday morning with all that lies ahead... but I'm not. Got 'er set on positive vibrations/cruise control this morning. Let the day come as it may. Cheers to your day, gents.

Well, yesterday did not turn out as expected. Had a nice ride over the mountains to Cottonwood for the Legion pool tourney. 30 minutes after we got there wife called in a panic and said water was coming out from under the kitchen sink and she couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Told her to go shut off the main water valve and mop up the water, then headed back home. Got home and found out the drain and p trap under the sink was totally clogged. Spent 3 hours crawling around under the sink removing all the drain pipes, then had to go to HD for a new drain as the old one got destroyed taking it out. Put in the new drain and all the drain piping. By the time I got done I was completely exhausted from bending down, crawling around in a space hardly big enough for me to work in. So no smoking last night. Now having CS Choctaw in a Sav Hercules 606EX with strong morning coffee. Still trying to rest up before my Honor Guard duty at 11. Sorry for the diatribe. Just thought I would explain my lapse in posting. L ol. Still have to go find a dishwasher.

This morning I smoked a bowl of PS 402 luxury twist flake in a mm cob. This tobacco rubbed out and lit up very nicely. Tastes fine with a caramel aftertaste. Somehow, I think this is the sort of tobacco that will taste better every time I smoke it.
Have a picture I took while my wife, sister in-law and I were harvesting wild sage this weekend.

Just finished smoking pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Going walking before the Braves-Padres game starts.

Did a set of walking reps, and am not far from finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Lunch and the Braves-Padres game follow this smoke.

The first pipe of Westminster was so good I reloaded and made a fresh cup of coffee. Winston decided to join Bella and the Scamper brothers!

Even though I expected no less than what I see, it does my heart good to see how well they have adapted to your home. Thanks again for what you folks did.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have passed the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink.

Monday a week ago, I had a bowl of pretty moist Prince Albert in a cob. I must have been absent-mindedly puffing and leaving the bit right on my tongue. Whatever the cause, it left a circular pattern of tender red bumps around a place about 1/2 wide. I had to hold off until now. Having C&D Steamworks (no pun) in a Peterson rusticated standard system 302. Hope that burn/bite doesn't happen again and this is why I chose a p-lip today.

Almost half way through this bowl of Seattle Pipe Club Virginia Jazz in a smooth medium brown medium bend 1950s B.B.B. Own Make 307 apple with a sterling silver band and black vulcanite saddle stem. Just finished cleaning a few pipes.

The sourness I noticed a week ago is related to a similar habit I have when I smoke while working. Too much exposure to the same section of mouth tissue can lead to irritation, white or red discolouration, inflamed pappillae, loss of taste or uncharacteristic oral responses like sourness and bitterness and metallic tastes. I'm sure most of us have experienced some of these symptoms at one point or another pursuing our hobby. I cut back my bowls per diem and the issue is subsiding. Too much of a good thing...
