Hi all, been smoking since the early 2000’s. Was smoking cigarettes and started with Pipes. Got really into it and before I knew it I had quite the Pipe and Tobacco collection. I was still smoking cigarettes But stopped Cold Turkey! It’s been a year and a half since I had a cigarette. I was reluctant to light a pipe or cigar in fear that it may be a gateway back to cigarettes. Sooo last week I had a bourbon and decided to have a pipe. Packed a bowl with Partaga’s. WOW, what a great feeling it was. Like an old friend. lol. Didn’t even think about a Cigarette. So the other day I packed a bowl with Plum Pudding… Mmmmm
So good. Anyway there you have it. I’ll be around here to see what’s going on. Thanks;

Welcome to the group Tony, glad you could stop the cigs. Nasty things those and that's from another ex cig smoker.

I have a pipe regularly inside and the smell is generally gone within 12 hours. Had a mate smoke a few cigs when I had my pipe, the place smelt disgusting still 48 hours after.

How do you smoke a post? Just curious here ;)

Hello, Duca. I’m a former cigarette smoker too. No need to fear pipes as a gateway to cigarettes. The only thing which leads back to cigarettes are the sicko chemicals they put in cigarettes themselves.

I smoked cigarettes since I was 14. In the mid 90s I smoked cheap store cigars too, like Swisher Sweets and AVANTI. In the early 2000s I dabbled with pipes but after a pipe had to smoke a cigarette. I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey as well. After a few years I got interested in pipes again. I've been smoking a pipe now for almost 14 years and never had the urge for a Lucky Strike. I'm 50 now so I think I'm in the clear of going back to cigarettes. To be honest I can't stand the smell of them anymore.
