Finally got the study close to finished today. Put up my Green Dragon sign and my pioe smoking fisherman too. I don't smoke indoors, but have my baccies in a drawer, with some pipes in a wall-mounted rack. Others are kept in the drawer under the baccies. I'm eyeing up spots to the left of the desk and under the piping fisherman for cellaring and more pipe racks.

Smaller than my own, but I like it all the same. An excellent Hobby Hole!

You can get a peek at mine under this same thread titled "My office/den"
The snugness keeps me focused. I do most of my writing and editing in there, so need to use the time well. A few more creature comforts and it may be more of a Hobbit hole than hobby hole!

That is a very nice cozy looking study. You have a window right next to your chair too! Look, when I smoked cigarettes I didn't smoke in my house. When my wife and I first got married we smoked in our apartment. When we bought our house we smoked on our porch, never in the house. We sold our house and moved back into an apartment. Our two sons are in their 20s now and hate cigarette smell and smoke. We both quit years ago but I did a little experiment. I tried smoking in my chair next to the window but the window has a fan in it. I believe pipe smoke is different from cigarette smoke because it doesn't linger. When my youngest son sits in the living room with me I always ask him if a certain blend smells good and says " Dad, to be honest I can't smell it, you have the fan sucking it out. My wife watches tv in our bedroom all the time and she never smells it. And the bedroom is not far from the living room. My point is, if you put a fan in that window and put it on low, the smoke will not bother anyone plus it won't stain walls or stink up your house, it will suck right out the window. You should enjoy that room dude! Get a fan!

Mine gave in after I showed her that it doesn't smell as long as I sit near the window with the fan in it. I'm lucky though, my wife buys me pipes and my tobacco. On father's day she bought me a Rossi Sera 8601 a half pound of Gawith Hoggarth Rum Flake and a half pound of Coniston Cut Plug. For my birthday she got me a pound of Country Squire's Cowboy Coffee and a half pound of Ruins Of Windsor. She used to love the smell of the American Lane Limited made Sir Walter Raleigh regular, before they moved production to Denmark and ruined the blend. I made an effort to smoke stuff that she like the room note of just incase she did smell it, but she doesn't. It's because of the fan in the window, I'm telling you it works.
