Smoking some cobs and bent falcons with some carter hall having a rest. I gave my car its yearly:LOL: hand wash yesterday and I was exhausted after it.
Today I hand polished half of it and was totally drenched in sweat and exhausted, I will do the other half tomorrow maybe.
Times like this I wish it was a mini minor not a toyota troop carrier :ROFLMAO:😮‍💨
@Aussiemike is that a type of Land Cruiser, and could you post any pics? I really like those, and had two FJ40's (75 and 66) and an FJ 80.

Now enjoying Wilke Lizzie Blood Red English in an '80s Peterson's System Standard smooth 312 with nickle cap and vulcanite p-lip stem.

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. It's time to feed the ferals. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 Angler's Dream in a 1978 smooth brown three quarter bend Sir Brent axe with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Paid $9.95 for it at my local Tinderbox. It had a bad habit of gurgling, but Basil Meadows fixed that by opening the shank area. Does pretty well since he did.

What a cool shape.

Good morning BoB,
This morning I had a bowl of Lane Hazelnut again, I'll be rid of it in a month or two. MM cob as usual and also as per usual is my drink of fancy green tea and choice of audio while I work.
The mornings have become quite cold here and I find myself dressing in layers. I also smelled the astringent, needle scented smoke of a forest fire this morning which is unusual for this time of year. One of my favorite things about winter here is that our forests don't burn like they do every summer now. Forest fires have become much more common in the last 4 years here in centeral Oregon. Decades of a somewhat small problem, one or two fires over the course of the summer but thats no longer the case.
The last four years, the entire spring to fall period has been pock-marked by dozens of forest fires, like a switch was flipped.
Many here remember certain events from a few years back and are becoming conspiratorial about the origin of the fires and I can't say those people don't have a compelling argument.

What a cool shape.
And my son's name is Basil so that really caught my eye. Is he still making pipes?
Having a Basil make a pipe for Basil would be cool. The name is not very common.. Like Michael. Five of us in my class from kindergarten to 5th grade. Three Michael B's. I named him after Basil Faulty, from Faulty Towers. not Basil Rathbone.

Basil Meadows had to retire from making pipes due to health problems. He does make some excellent wood work, and you ought to check out his Facebook page. I have seven of his pipes. Great smokers, and his prices were very reasonable. My EGR pipe was made by him.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking the last of this jar of year 2002 F&T Cut Virginia Plug in a straight smooth brown 1920s LHS Purex double patent no. 1587048 and 19085630 Real Briar Root Silver Circle 42 apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. One of these days, I hope I find the box I put the other CVP tins in. Gold Star Papua New Guinea, neat, is my drink.

Mid day, staying out of the wind on the leeward side of the house. My sweetheart is here, I bought 2 cans of PA for our trip. Having a great smoke with a Wathen freehand from 1980 Kerry Wathen committed suicide in 1985, he had lost the use of his hands somehow. An artist who happened to make pipes. I’m burning PA.

Decompressing with Exclusive (vaper) in the Re-Gent. On the saw all day, alone. Cut. drag, limb, buck - nothing over 16". We're clearing all the scrub and standing deadwood from the playable rough for a national tourney series next summer. I would have started it last year so the stump fills could grow in solid. Nobody asked me, though. I'm sore as hell and have two days more before the week-end. This will go on for me until the snow flies, grateful for the money but it will take a toll. Wish me luck.

PS: I'll try not to winge about it anymore. 😜

PPS: I am really enjoying the routine of a pipe before and after work. I may forego work cobs next year, although I do miss it.

Jim when you review blends are you under a nondisclosure clause until they are released?

There's no such kind of clause. I don't work for anybody but me. When I'm asked to review something, I say "yes". Sometimes, I ask for some info, but nothing else. If you are thinking that I get paid for this, I'll disabuse you of that notion right now. My reviews are my gift to our community, and nothing else. If somebody tried to influence me in any way, I'd stop reviewing for them, and they know it. That is my rule. There's nothing to read into anything that I do.
