This was not how I planned to pick up my first Nording pipe, but the price was right, and I suspect ending the auction at 10 am on American presidential election day was a poor financial choice on the seller's part. $55 shipped. Seller claims lightly smoked, appears unsmoked, or smoked only once or twice to my eyes.

Two questions. How many pipes were part of this 'series?' What did they sell for new? This would have been about 15 years ago, and the Internet is not giving me the answers.

To my eyes, it's obviously a lower end Nording in a very fancy box. Cool that it was part of a world record breaking pipe, not cool that there is zilch for information about it, which tells me this was more of a marketing stunt than a collectible piece of history (IMO). The flush transition between shank and stem is something I don't typically see on Nording pipes.

Great looking pipe mate, that big pipe reminded me of the "Game of Thrones" throne only with pipes.(y)

Got a WTF? message from the seller, lol. They expected the bidding to go much higher. I suggested that having the auction end at 10am on the 2024 American Presidential election day May not have been the wisest financial decision. Superbowl Sunday and Black Friday also tend to be good eBay days for buyers, but not for sellers.

I did learn a bit more. This pipe was made as a commemorative of the Guinness World Record Pipe, it was a very limited run, and three versions were made. All the pipes were made personally by Erik Nørding, and have no stamping on them at all, save for the Nording 'N'. They are very, very high grade pipes indeed.

I really hope this is been smoked. Not sure I want to own a pipe I can't in good conscience, smoke.

A very handsome pipe Plan, sounds like the seller stuffed up with their listing and should just cop it as you won the auction fair and square.
Oh he is, at least he hasn't refunded me yet. I won't breathe easy until I get a shipping notification.

I think he started the auction too low. People weren't sure what to make of it, and as I mentioned, there isn't much info out there on these. The description was somewhat vague, and the pipe isn't flashy, like most of the other high grade Nordings.

The only real clue I had was that a flush fit stem and shank was rare on Nording pipes, and that made it worth the gamble to me.
I like the shape and stem, awesome and worth every single penny
Thanks!
