In the comics pages in days of yore we had pipesters: Dennis the Menace's father Henry smoked a pipe, as did Dagwood Bumstead in Blondie. Today, neither is seen with his usual black briar, which leads me to suppose that the present authors of these comics have gone woke, alas!
