Sorry for the whinge people.

I got up from sitting down the other night and my leg cramped up just as I went to put weight on it. Not surprisngly I fell landing on my dominant right hand.

It didn't feel too painful at the time, good pain killers will do that for you, but it woke me up in the morning when I rolled over and pain shot up my arm.

Went to A&E at the local hospital, was promptly xrayed but had to wait 6 hours to see the doctor as this was a Sunday and low staff levels are a norm on weekends.

Doc says nothing broken and to take more painkillers as required and to see my GP if it is still painfull in a few days.

Monday my hand feels like a balloon to misquote a classic Floyd song and I can't really use it much. Trying to get pills out of the bubble packaging is an effort.

Just glad I did not hit my head on anything.

Timbo told me he was in bed and thought his feet were hanging over the end so he got up to have a look and tripped over his humongous pile of exotic tobacco and pipes ;)
Sucks getting old mate get well soon and try and stay off the turps  (y)

Thanks mate, been cutting down on the sauce lately, only two whiskys last night.

Just went to our other local(ish) hospital as after a month things are still not right.

Fractured as I first guessed, a hairline one which only showed up in a CT scan as well as a chipped elbow the other hospital should've spotted.

Nothing much to do than keep wearing my wrist brace till it heals. Sigh

Thank the Lord for painkillers.

I'm sorry the hospital didn't catch the chip and fracture the first go around. Healthcare workers missing things has become an unfortunate trend in my experience.
I hope you have some good distraction, pain that won't go away can drive you nuts.

Thanks Gaius, It probably didn't help that my first visit was on a Sunday. The doc looked exhausted when I saw him.

Got my computer games and music studio to distract me. Less piping due not easily being able to light up, grrrr.
