IM Corona lighter problems

I've one of these which I think is about ten years old.

Trouble is the ignition button is not always firing when depressed and sometimes doesn't want to go all the way down to actually ignite the flame. If the button gets stuck, only going down halfway after a few tries. I get a bit voilent with it, whacking it against my table top, and it goes back to working.

Any suggestions peeps?

I would look for fine debris in the lighting mechanism. If it is obstructed, compressed air might clear the blockage and improve function.

I’m having issues with my Pipe Master too. Mine has a strong spark and I can light it off another lighter so it has gas (but not over pressurized.)I don’t know but I called Cory at Arango and the’ll fix it out of warranty for $35.00.

When mine does that same thing, I use a pipe cleaner soaked in 90% alcohol and clean around the lighting port.

I have an "Old Boy". Because of the mechanism, they really like to be serviced, say, once a year. Not willing to do that. I take lighter fluid and an old toothbrush and scrub the heck out of it. That limps it along.

I'll see if there are any repairers in Aus, it's a good lighter and I want to keep it going.

Tried the contact us form on the IM Corona site and even filling out all the blanks the submit button does not submit the form.

How do you know if you've got a problem with your feedback form if it doesn't work...

You're not alone, Timbo. Many of the pipe sites I frequent pay little or no heed to their contact and feedback messages, suppliers to those sites are even harder to contact. The list for me is long, starting with Rattray's, Falcon, and 4Noggins. I have sent all three civil and articulate messages two or three times over the last six months. Falcon's home site is utterly non-responsive and won't even load now. People abandon their business sites and leave them to orbit the internet like space debris orbits the earth. I can only imagine what will happen when it comes crashing down on the internet or worse - reaches a sentience of its own without human guidance.

Let us know if you find a good solution for you lighter, practical layman's solutions always interest me.

Surprised 4N hasn't gotten back to you, Rich used to be very responsive the new guy doesn't seem to respond as quickly but he's never not gotten back to me eventually.
