One of my best friends wants a pipe he can carry in his pocket while he’s playing with his N scale railroad. He saw my little go go pipes and wanted one.
I looked in my box of sad pipes and found something really close but it looked very sad. Even in sad box land.
There were gouges and scratches some pretty deep. I’m a rank amateur at refurbishing pipes with no real tools. No way I could smooth them out.
So I embraced them and did my first rusticated conversion. Not very good, but he’s happy to get the pipe as a gift. And I got to save something from the bin and give it a little more life.
And a new tool to reclaim pipes.
