Lately, I have been wanting to know how much nicotine I might be getting smoking my pipe compared to those who smoke cigarettes. This was an article that helped put my mind at some ease.

Thanks for that, Swede. So, old habits die hard for cigarette smokers that switch over.

It's been so long since I had any cigs -over 30 years, I am not tempted to inhale. Also, pipe smoke and cigar smoke has always hit me as too harsh. Says he who once smoked and inhaled cured tobacco straight from a barn and rolled in grocery sack brown paper :) -an old timer I knew did this, so thought I'd join in and once was enough- a very dizzying experience.

I can sometimes inhale once or twice near the end of a bowl, and I wait until then because I notice how significantly it negatively affects my sense of taste. I do it because I like the sensation of inhaling, but it comes at a cost. After that, I can't taste any nuance.

I don’t ever inhale.

My first cigar was the same, Thomas Hinds brought a roller in from Cuba for their opening and he worked in shop for a week. I bought one of his cigars and he said "let it cure for three months, it's green." Two months later I smoked it, got the cold sweats, the shakes, and the trots after 1/4 of it. Never smoked anything green again.

You’re lucky it didn’t kill you. Nicotine poisoning is nasty business.

Back when my wife smoked cigarettes she would used my Prince Albert in her cigarette stuffing machine. She liked Bugler tobacco but when she ran out one day and used the Prince Albert, that was it lol. I was buying two tubs at a time. She quit 6 years ago but sometimes she'll come out to the living room when I smoke PA and say "oh that smells delicious!" LOL

I don't like the nicotine Heebie Jeebies at all. I remember when I was a new pipe smoker and I was in a cigar and pipe shop, I bought a tin of Dunhill Royal Yacht. I didn't get past a half bowl without getting the spins and pukey
