Has anyone grown their own tobacco?

Apparently I didn't search diligently enough. Thanks.

Has anyone grown their own tobacco?

I'm interested in growing some tobacco this year, and was wondering if there are any gardeners among us who might be able to recommend some good seed.

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated.

    Broken Stem Question

Thanks for the advice! I tried the super glue repair, but I didn't have much luck. I will be sending it for repairs to the maker. But out of curiosity, would it damage the inside of the shank (i.e. warp the briar?) to smoke it with a stem missing some tenon? I suppose this will teach me not to...

    Broken Stem Question

Long story short, I broke a quarter inch off the stem while trying to re-insert it in the shank. I retrieved the broken piece that was stuck in the shank with no problems, and the remaining tenon on the stem is long enough still to give a good fit and seal in the shank. I will be getting it...

    What are you listening to?

Yeah, I would imagine. I haven't tried tuning to F#AC#G#BE, though I make a point of playing around with a new tuning every couple weeks. I had alot of fun with CGDGBC.

    What are you listening to?

Art of Motion - Andy McKee This guy plays some pretty amazing stuff. I would go so far as to call him a sorcerer. Wish I could play anywhere near half as well as Andy does.

My first couple of bowls of Full Virginia Flake

I bought a tin a few weeks ago at my local tobacconist, and just was not enjoying it. I also read somewhere here to dry it out a little. So I rubbed a flake out really well, let it sit for half an hour, and loaded it. It was a very pleasant surprise how much the smoking experience changed...

Charatan Pipe Making Video - Circa 1945

Haha, yeah, it looks like anyone over 6' tall would have a pretty rough time in there. I wonder why that is? Would production speed be hindered significantly by safety gear?

I wonder how many fingers have been lost to that circular saw, due to the absence of a guard.

How many fly fishermen in the BoB?

Thanks for the info, MisterE. I've been tying my own flies for over a year and a half now, but have always fished them with a bobber on an ultralight spincast. Mind you, that's all I've found I've needed to have a good afternoon crappie fishing. I've wanted to set myself up with a fly rod, and...
