Wet and 60F, so ceasing busy outside work and having a bowl of Bluff Blend in an MM General with forever stem and sencha tea. This time I added a couple of pinches of C&D Habana Daydream. I will likely watch college football the restvof the day. I'll break that up with looking at some trail cam...

A busy week has kept me away from the briar or cob and bowl. I've been organizing and cleaning in storage areas, and now have a break with Half and Half plus PS English Oriental Supreme mix in an MM diplomat bent apple with Typhoo Extra Strong tea. The stem and shank are loose, so time for bees...

@JimInks I'm very sorry that David Cuneo, your friend, has passed away. You and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care

I think yesterday's cigar helped move me to conclude that I am no longer much of a cigar smoker. I was missing my pipe and the greater relaxation it affords. One thing about cigars is they stay lit. Enjoying some Warped Until the End (the irony it is a cigar blend) in a Yello-Bole Cured with...

Man, that's a good looking pipe. Hard to believe it is a second.

    I'm pretty much wired

Not sure if this would interest anyone, but there is an old Apple device that can be useful but obscure. You can store data on the limited memory cards, they can go on wifi, but can also send faxes plus "beam" to other Newtons. I have a few, and sometimes still use them. I like the handwriting...

A departure for me with a San Lotano The Bull toro cigar by A.J. Fernandez, my favorite blender. It has been well over a year since my last cigar. It's nice with cedar taste and a bit of pepper on the retrohale, and I have the cap left to mix in my next pipe bowl.

Since my Digby prince shape smoked PS Luxury Navy Flake so well, I am trying the same in a Savory's Argyle prince shape pipe with coffee. It is about the same as in the other pipe, but the Digby has a more spacious bowl, and gave better taste.

A guy I knew was driving a 6 cyl diesel Land Cruiser in Honduras, when he noticed it overheating with the engine actually glowing. Cooled it down put some creek water in it, and the thing got them home. They are the toughest almost overbuilt (needed where they are usually the 4wd standard)...

Topped off the DGT of Steamworks with a mix of Half and Half plus some PS English Oriental in the Kaywoodie. Made a cuppa Typhoo Extra Strong and used it to clean out my honey jar of granulated honey, so really sweet with half and half creamer. Pretty tasty both pipe and tea.

The Kaywoodie Prime Grain 13B did so well with C&D Steamworks yesterday, after a cleaning I'm having that again in it this am with black espresso blend coffee.

On the Bluff, and just whittled a new tamper, as Mrs. Swede has been nesting and moving things around, so knocked my old one off probably thinking it's just a twig 😉. A bowl of Amphora Original in a smoky at both ends MM General with forever stem. It's been beautiful day to be outside finishing...

    The Military Surplus Thread

@Zeno Marx the hardware does make noise when putting on and taking off the pack. When wearing it, noise shouldn’t occur unless some slack gets in the straps. Thanks for the information about the fabric, it's fascinating and nettle is a new one to me (also the plant has food uses). Here's an...

I've been craving a straight "Burley", so having a bowl of Tabac Manil La Volute Semois in an MM Pride raw cob with forever stem. The brick of this came parts that were loose and parts that were clumps. I tried to keep those in clumps, so stuffed two into the bowl thinking it might well affect...

As happens here, the rain that forbade a fire last night has ushered in a cool spell (59 F), so I am out in my usual spot having a bowl of Warped Kings Stride in a Peterson rusticated standard system with p-lip 309 with water and coffee. I have a deep sense of gratitude for this group, and...

I'm strictly an outdoors piper myself. Last winter, it got way down below 32 F, but once I bundled up with plenty of wool (a Goodwill wool sweater on the outer in case of burns), it was really nice in the sun. It almost seemed that all my senses were heightened.
