A cool breezy day, and I am having a bowl of Warped Cloudhopper in a slightly cleaned Peterson rusticated standard system with p-lip 302. Got a big day and evening ahead, as Mrs. Swede has decorated and hosting a get together for BBQ and fellowship tonight. I hope to have the fire pit and my...

@Aussiemike those are awesome Land Cruisers, and I'm betting you've had a few pipe bowls in them. I now have a Jeep TJ, and they are definitely not as heavy duty as the Cruisers. I had a chance to buy an "Iron Pig" aka FJ55 for $600 usd once but didn't and kick myself everytime I think about...

@Aussiemike is that a type of Land Cruiser, and could you post any pics? I really like those, and had two FJ40's (75 and 66) and an FJ 80.

@lgoldberg thanks, he is something special, and I've got him with mecat the Bluff working today. He's happy in the front seat just snoozing.

@Zeno Marx here are some more pictures, and it is about 21-22 inches tall. To me, the suspension is sturdy. I once went pretty far down a hill to a spring creek to find some unique rocks with areas the water had carved out, and this pack held them and was stable as I climbed out up the trail. I...

After a late lunch of double meat baloney sandwich and fig cake, I'm using the good ole Pete 302 for some Amphora Original, and enjoying this guy's company out in the sunshine. He got 2 scrambled eggs for lunch-yes, I spoil him.

DGT of Steamworks in the Peterson and pretty good. That's one of many things I like about this blend. I was reading on Jim Bowie and his famous knife this am, and learned he was born not too far up in Kentucky. I will have to take a road trip there.

Been kind of frazzled since the water heater problem Saturday, so finally a real respite to have a peaceful bowl of C&D Steamworks in what handles it faithfully, a Peterson rusticated standard system with p-lip 302. Water is my drink, and my companion is Bandit, a Boykin Spaniel.

It seems the G-1000 fabric uses a wax of theirs for refreshing the water resistance. Could what is old be new again, i.e , a waxed garment... I have an xBay sourced Filson tin cloth loggers coat and hat that uses their wax...

It has been a trying weekend, as I woke up at 1230 am Saturday to discover a water heater problem. Thank God a plummer friend came by to fix it. With throwing away wet stuff and honey do "organizing" the basement, there was no time for a sorely needed bowl until now. So on the Bluff having Bluff...

These are good wool from NZ sheep. There are some cool YT videos of guys in NZ wearing these hunting wild hogs. They are supposed to repel water and do to some extent. I have a vintage Ranger shirt and a jacket both bought used online at a considerable savings. I like the old ones made by Kiwis...

@ @Zeno Marx probably not what you have in mind, but these people offer a heavy wool anorak. The lady might even sew one to your liking. I have a jacket, and can say they are functional but not immaculatly sewn, i.e., you may find aspects that seem a little rough. I wouldn't give mine up...

I have an old US Army wool blanket that I use often. I also have a Swedish military heavy canvas and leather pack with a metal frame. It has a nice green and light colored fleck pattern in the canvas. It is a great chainsaw gear pack for carrying metal wedges, axe, etc. into the woods for...
