    Interesting Peterson inclusions

I completed my Peterson Sherlock Holmes "collection" with a sandblast Watson that arrived today. Inside the box (in addition to the pipe and bag) are a small brochure with the Peterson guarantee and shape chart, and a small matchbook-type folder containing a Peterson branded silver polishing...

The second Peterson I ever bought, this System Standard 301. Back then it would have been filled with Flying Dutchman or Brindley's Mixture; these days a codger blend seems to fit (some Carter Hall)...

I want to hear more more put downs of corncob pipes

Just a discussion, and a thread about likes and dislikes, Jim. Don't think the OP meant any ill will by it, but if I'm wrong, and if my response added to any overall negativity, I apologize. I recall I started a thread a while back about the fact that I don't care for cobs; if that was wrong I...

Still one of the most beautifully colored meerschaums I've ever seen. I've yet to put a bowl full through either my Mark Twain or my Sherlock Holmes meers; if I could be guaranteed they'd color like Jim's I'd be puffing on one or the other right now!

I want to hear more more put downs of corncob pipes

Never cared for them. Owned one once but it didn't stick. Just not a look I care for and I have too many pipes I'd rather smoke, so...no disrespect to them what loves 'em.

Annie and I finished out the trap season last night (23/25 from the 16yd line and 21/25 in 23yd handicap) with some Shepherd's Pie in the Peterson Aran 408 - sort of a Prince on steroids - and I really like this tobacco!

    A Peterson comment...

I have a number of pipes in the Sherlock Holmes series and I really enjoy them. I have a Baskerville, and for some reason I expected the Baskerville to be a big ol' honker, but it actually has a rather small profile and small capacity when compared to other SH bent shapes - seen beside the...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Had my first pipeful of Shepherd's Pie last night at the gun club in the Pete Baker Street. I like English tobaccos and this is a nice one; lots of flavor but very mild. I don't necessarily smoke every day, but if I did, I could see it becoming an all-day tobacco for me. Interesting: I had...

The Professor and I went fishing this morning with a bag of Hunting Creek. North Meadow Lake is one of my favorite spots, but the drought and hot weather has rendered it almost unfishable; the last time I went it was almost entirely moss covered. I decided to give it a look now that it has...

    .22 rifles

Yeah; thanks. Aware of most of the places I could find one if I were of a mind - I'm not. I regret passing on that one years ago, but the urge to find another passed a long time ago.

    .22 rifles

Years ago I came across a takedown model of that gun, called the "Camper" model with original case. I didn't buy it and have been kicking myself ever since.

ODF in a big ol' Hilson Avanti Largo. And since this seems to be a combination pipe/cat thread, this guy (or gal?) was sitting guard on the nature trail when I went out for my walk this morning...

    Country Squire Hunting Creek

I have 4oz of CS's Shepherd's Pie on the way. I love eating it, so I thought, why not smoke it! :D

    .22 rifles

I started this thread about my Stevens Crackshot, but my actual favorite .22 to shoot is my Colt Woodsman Sport Model, c. 1936. It's all 100% original and I have the original walnut grips but I like it with the stag grips I found. Accurate as all get out, at least as well as my old eyes can...

    Country Squire Hunting Creek

Here's my short sweet review from the "What are you..." thread that I posted on 9/12. I've only had a couple of bowls but so far I think it's a keeper. Anxious to hear your opinion! "Took my pouch of Country Squire Hunting Creek to the gun club last night along with this military-mount...
