Smoking some Bayou Morning in an old Savinelli Punto Oro 101. Love the red stain on this old boy. Blast is decent too. What I’ve noticed with these old Savinellis, though, is that the vulcanite stems are close to impossible to keep shiny. I suspect they used a cheaper form of vulcanite because I...

Smoking some Scottish Flake in a Castello Old Antiquari kkkk with coffee on the side. This pipe is a true ring grain blast and just a joy to smoke. Huge open draw and always cool. Normally castellos don’t do it for me because their designs are just too whimsical for my tastes, but this one is a...

Accessories Wanted 2023 Sun Bear trade for Scottish Flake

Hello Brothers, I have 3 tins of 2023 Sun Bear I’d like to swap for 3 tins of McConnell’s Scottish Flake. Obviously older is better, but I’m fine with new tins. Scottish Flake is readily available for purchase all over online, so I imagine this is a good trade for Sun Bear fans. I have tried...

Smoking a Ferndown Bark 2 star billiard with some Scottish Flake and a mug of coffee. Sunshine, contented dogs around me, and singing birds in the trees. A glorious morning.

    What's your favourite Movie Soundtrack?

Soundtrack to the movie Rush. Mostly Clapton instrumentals with a very tasty Buddy Guy number at the end.

Smoking my Peterson Supreme 106 filled to the brim with some 2016 Haddo’s Delight. This blend really shines with some age on it. My wife also tells me the room note is quite pleasant. She often walks in on me reading in my chair and says, “Smells like Haddo’s.” Sleepy Time tea is my drink...

Winding the night down with some Haddo’s Delight in a 1979 Dunhill Bruyere 51031. Made 4 years after they ended the LB designation, but by all means it’s an LB—exact same dimensions. Pairing it with a glass of Evan Williams and a book I’m wrapping up—Seneca’s Moral Essays.

I agree. They are increasingly hard to find, and every one I’ve ever had has smoked well. I heard a guy once refer to them as the “mini LB.” I think that’s a perfect descriptor. I always keep my eye open for them. Last year in haste I traded a truly mint 1965 Root Briar 127 and a beautiful...

Smoking some luxury navy flake in a 1963 Dunhill 127 Tanshell. This Tanshell has become almost blood red over the years. Of all my pipes, this is my best smoker. Close to perfect. Coffee on the side.

I’m guessing that’s a reference to the Purdue Boilermakers, who are now in the men’s Final Four.

Smoking a 1953 Dunhill LB patent era shell with some 2013 Haddos Delight. A large mug of coffee with some of my wife’s vanilla creamer, an occasional sweet change of pace for me.

I love that Peterson B42 shape. I once had a deluxe system natural finish in that shape. It's on my shortlist of one's that got away.

I live in Fayetteville, maybe 15 minutes south of Rogers. I’ve lived all over the country and this area is by far my favorite. Northwest Arkansas is really a special place. There are also a handful of fantastic cigar and pipe shops in the area filled with great smokes and even better people.
