Left some GH Dark Flake out to dry last night, then fell asleep. Surprisingly still didn't get totally crispy. May even be just the thing it needed. It's smoking great out of the Altinay Calabash. Edit: Ok it lost a bit of flavor. But still better too dry than not dry enough.

Just fired up a bowl of GH Latakia Mixture #12 in the Altinay Calabash. Haven't been smoking lat blends much lately, and now I'm not sure why. This stuff is darn good.

Once again enjoying GH Dark Birdseye in an Altinay calabash, with the added delight of some extra flavoring from Bob's- Chocolate- Flake-juice that was leftover inside the bowl. This would probably be my official favorite blend -- if you could call it a blend.

I'd say, I don't make any special effort to keep ash in the bowl or to get ash out of the bowl. If it's there, so be it. Sometimes I'll turn the pipe upside down over an ashtray and let whatever falls out fall out. Relights can taste a bit ashy if you're lighting a thick blanket of ash.

Now firing up Watch City's 4-Q in an Altinay Okoume Calabash. Praise to Ernie Q for blending the only aromatic that I reach for on a regular basis.
