    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Clear night sky, using the night screen on phone so that I'm not blinded to enjoy the stars. Wilke Commander in a Stanwell Trio.

Like the stem on that. Very nice!

Quiet walk enjoying CS Rivendell in a Savinelli Tortuga 614. First time sending from my phone, not so bad, though I prefer looking at the site on the larger computer screen.

    Developing your own home blend

Okay, Okay, I jumped the gun. I was to eager to post some positive results without really concluding my beta testing. I know, you're all smart enough you were going to wait for the alpha and beta testing from Jim Inks, not to mention the omega final review! ;) But anyway, I just finished trying...

    Developing your own home blend

On St. Paddy's Day I went through a bunch of Peterson Aromatics that have been sitting in a jar since last St. Paddy's Day. Of these the Peterson Gold was the most lackluster. I didn't get any takers when I offered this on my Buy or Trade post, so since I'm stuck with it and don't really need to...

Somewhere there's probably somebody who has actually tried this! Oh . . . you were serious??? 🥴

Your Favorite Sweet & Smoky Blends

Thanks for the tip. I've had good luck with the Sillems blends (when they can be found!) just hadn't paid attention to this because it is listed as an aromatic. Read some reviews and this does in fact sound like something I'd really enjoy.

My own blend "Aurum Luminae" in a paneled Design Berlin. Based off Peterson Gold which was rather lackluster by itself.

Good for you trying your own DIY blend. Looks good on paper, sort of a Black & Burley concept kicked up a notch. Let us know if stumble upon any winning recipes! (y)

    My Irish leftovers breakfast

Wow, looks great! Now I'm hungry all of a sudden! :)

Peterson Gold in a Design Berlin Prelude. Yeah, yeah, a German pipe . . . but I'm using a Peterson Filter, so that counts, right? :D

How should I take care of vulcanite stems?

Hmmm, never tried the Halcyon wax before, I use Obsidian Oil when rebuffing. But I take it the wax acts as a preventative to keep oxidation at bay? Anybody here tried both methods who can comment??

Just finished the Peterson Deluxe in a Savinelli Tortuga - the best aromatic by Peterson I'd say - nice flavors of honey and walnut. Now looking for something else to try before dinner. Half cup of Irish Coffee to keep me going ;)

Wow, great pic!! Might have been a safer bet to go with something American than British (even though British Woods and Scottish Woods are both great blends). Happy St. Padraig's Day!

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Pre-Dinner Lineup: This morning I had some Peterson Founder's Choice in a MM Cobbitshire - a peach and mango concoction that wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Right now enjoying some Peterson Old Dublin in a Peterson Deerstalker meerschaum - much more to my liking. Before dinner I'll have some...

    ER Tomorrow Morning

Good to hear you are home but not so good about all the problems after release. Back in the 1972 I did a speech at my high school about what the future would hold forth and I never imagined we would be so far behind on our medical practices in 2021. I just saddens me to hear that you have to...

Amphora Burley Blend in a Keller Cob. Good medium-strength Burley, a little more depth and complexity than Edgeworth or SWR (which I also enjoy) but not quite the full-throttle experience of some of C&D's Burley blends. Good value especially when on sale, next order I'm going to try their...

Nice try . . . not for sale. But if you've got a Tom Eltang you want to trade, then maybe we can talk. :p

    Forgive my Ignorance Cowboy Coffee

Both: it's a good tobacco blend by Country Squire, and it's also a method of making your coffee - basically boiling the grinds directly in the pot. I enjoy Cowboy Coffee (the drink) every now and then but to me once the acidity is completely boiled away the result is a little flat. Smooth yes...

It seems all four of my Design Berlins were limited production models, so you have to be in the right place at the right time. The Royal Star was new/old stock I picked up at a B&M, the Prelude was a run made in 2019, Siegfried I think was from 2014 - so I wouldn't spend a lot of time looking...
