Wilke 515 in a B&B 9mm. The slight addition of coumarin (or tonka bean) not as evident in this pipe as it has been in others, so I was able to better enjoy the underlying tobacco flavor. Still, not one that I will re-order.

Wilke No. 400 in a Design Berlin Siegfried. One of my favorites. Bundled up for 29 degrees but the cool air feels good on my face after 20 ounces of dark coffee got my body temp up. For those who might be interested Wilke is having a 20% sale on their tobacco for the next three days.

My own blend called Dark Matter in an Alpha Centurion. This is mostly Solani Aged Burley and MacBaren Old Dark Fired with 1/12 Gawith natural brown Cavendish. Good and smokey. Prepping for possible power outages due to approaching ice storm.

C&D DaVinci in a B&B rusticated billiard. This blend used to be a favorite, but today it just seems too over the top, so I stopped at the half bowl, and I'll finish it later tonight after dinner. Flavors of overly roasted (almost burnt) pistachio, salted peanuts and grill scrapings.

Interesting that for Virginia flakes I like a tall narrow bowl but for Burley or dark-fired a larger bowl works better. I'm not sure why that is. Just be sure to put a good layer of kindling on top - enough to get a good cherry going.
