    Beginning Pipe Collection

Thanks. The stem is leather-wrapped wood of some kind; I think the bowl is deer horn.

    Beginning Pipe Collection

Thanks. I like my Petersons quite a bit. The 80s is one of my faves as well, but it does have a sticky tenon.

    Beginning Pipe Collection

Thanks -- I like the history and variety of pipes. I recently picked up a paneled Vauan Topas, and estate Parker Bulldog, and an Apache Indian pipe! :)

    Saint Espresso

I bought two tins and have really enjoyed the blend so far. It has one of the nicest tin-notes I have experienced, smokes well, and tastes really nice. I just ordered two more tins to cellar.

    Peterson question

Agreed with @Timbo -- I have a couple P-lip pipes and have had no issue with standard pipe cleaners. The 'fluffy' variants can be a bit of a squeeze but even those have ultimately passed. I tend to use tapered regardless.

Thanks! The Tinksky, the Pete B42, and the Pete Irish Harp are three of my fave pipes.

Two and a Half Years In

Words to smoke by. Well-said. I really should've followed #3 and #4 as I now have sixty unique blends in my cellar and a dozen pipes. :) PAD/TAD for sure. Having so much choice is a double-edged sword. Great to have choice, but also leads to 'what should I smoke' conundrums in the moment.

Are you a straight or bent bit/stem person?

I was 100% on mediumish bent pipes. Just bought my first straight pipe -- a Vauen 150 Topas, and have found that I love those too. Now I just look for pipes of any shape that catch my eye.

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

Really nice pipes, and especially the POTY. Thanks for sharing!

Got pics? I am loving mine so far!

NPD: Vauen Topas 150 Paneled Apple

I was looking at pipes online (as one does) and drooling over some wonderful Castello Le Dune bent billiards, but came to my senses with the $600 price tag and drifted into the world of Vauen (Germany's oldest pipe manufacturer), who also make some well-engineered and beautiful pipes. But what...

    It just happened.

That's a really nice pipe! Thanks for sharing the pics!

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

The temps just hit 120F here and I am grateful my wife doesn't mind me smoking inside. Enjoying a nice bowl of Haddo's Delight in my Savinelli blue alligator bent billiard. Hope you all had a nice 4th!

    It just happened.

Happens to me all the time! Not your fault at all... :) My last order for 'pipe cleaners' was $175! They are really expensive!

Congratulations! Looks like you are off to a fine start there!

Both nice Petes! Thanks for sharing.

Peterson B42 + Mississippi River RBA

I just loaded up my Peterson System Spigot B42 with some delicious Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged. Looking forward to escaping the heat with this!

    Beginning Pipe Collection

Thanks -- I'm right there with you -- I like to see the bowl and I like the flowing curves. That being said, I haven't gone all the way to Oom Paul (yet). :) I am looking forward to breaking in my cob. A nice Meerschaum is at the top of my list to get as a gift from my wife. She said she'd...

    Greetings from Southern California!

Thanks for the welcome! I am looking forward to adding a Meerschaum to my collection at some point, and the hardwoods also are intriguing. I have nine blending components that I bought to taste-test and help educate my palette. I haven’t tried them yet — been too busy with the already-blended...

    Greetings from Southern California!

Thanks! And yes — I am definitely an English/Balkan/Oriental fan. Throw in some VaPer, DFK, and Aro’s for variety and I’m there!
