    Two "Natural" HOs

I find Peterson Irish Flake and GH Kendal KY remarkably similar in taste, with very little or no topping; just the tobacco. Kenday KY burns very quickly due to the crossover cigarette/pipe tobacco cut while Irish Flake burns very slowly. I'm smoking some IF now and the bowl should clock out at...

reverse calabash bamboo I am almost done with

reverse bamboo calabash! Yeah, love those words put together like that. I think I'll write a poem about the activities of someone who smokes one, metaphorizing the parts of the pipe while the protagonist handles the pipe with panache!

    Latest order from Mr. Snuff

What you're buying is the fully ground variety of snuff? You don't snort it, like in the movies of those who used snuff 200 years ago? You tuck a pinch between your cheek and teeth, or inside your lower lip?

    McClelland PCCA Beacon Flake

Most don't seem to like it, but if you think you like perique ya gotta try Cool Hand Fluke. Dirty cheap at 4noggins, and this is not a plug. I've got three pounds. Very different, and as I love perique, very good to me. Only 40% perique. When I mentioned this to Mr. Pease he gagged! Sooner...

    Latest order from Mr. Snuff

I dipped Copenhagen for awhile and tried other snuffs but never found it satisfying. Are there any quality natural tobacco snuffs that aren't flavored? In the end I found Copenhagen an odd taste, and I always worried about it rotting my teeth:).

What is your favorite VaPar ?

Escudo, hands down. Strong and vivid VAs and perique, and I'm a sucker for the spun rounds presentation.

    How Important are the Details?

roth, Your use of obscenity in one reference and the derisive comment in another makes me feel that both your post and you are not to be taken seriously. When I made my remark about systems being self-correcting I was referencing the following thread on Cigar Asylum. As you know those best...

    Cellaring and new blend trial

Monbla started a thread awhile back about the limits of cellaring. I think we have all had the quandry, once we seriously cellar, over when a tin should be opened. "It has 5 years on it now, should be good, but do I open it now or at 10 years?" The gist was, and monbla please correct, that we...

    Crotch pipe?

Ropp pipes are a good example of how not to make natural wooden pipes. I've yet to see one that looks other than simple minimally-machined to make a sale. The one I had bespoke the same definition.

    A Quality Lighter

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to turn a Zippo pipe lighter on its side, at which point the flame billows up; but then to actually get a light, you need to suck the flame down into the bowl? This fries my tongue. I think I've got that lighter, somewhere.

The perfect morning to wake up to...

Gorgeous pipe! Love the extra-slim shank and stem.

    A Thanksgiving tale of caution.

I judge how satisfactorily over-the-top a joke I tell is by the taken aback expressions its hearers manifest. Their best expression, in my opinion, is understanding to the tune of puzzlement. "Why would anyone think that way?"
