The simple pleasures of a great place to smoke...

Canadian Pacific Railway has me down in the Twin Cities for three weeks of classroom training in becoming a conductor so after an eight hour day of learning books and books of rules and procedures it's nice to be able to go somewhere and relax. Over on Grand Avenue in St. Paul is a great cigar...

    What are you smoking?

In celebration of my new job I decided to crack open a tin of Brindle Flake from 2003 and put it in my Savinelli Virginia 824KS. Wow :face:

    Pipe Photography...

Those pictures are nice and so are the pipes! Actually, the pipes are great! I can't believe the results that one can now get out of those little point n' shoot digis, to the point where they are right up with the digital SLRs, camera technology has come a long way! It really proves that you...

    Tobacco on the History Channel

Pretty interesting, cool video from the Opus X factory and Cornell and Diehl. Also some interesting information about cigarette manufacturing I didn't know about. Always wondered how they manipulated nicotine levels, but I guess they found a way!

    Tobacco on the History Channel

Just got home here and flipping through the channels I see Modern Marvels is doing a show on tobacco. Missed the first 10 minutes, but thought I'd put it out there for anyone else online.

    My Last Tin

The first non-aromatic I ever had and it was delicious. Too bad Orlik took over before I had a clue what was going on. Great blend!

    An old friend

Mine is a Savinelli Laguna Billiard (111 KS) I bought in May of 2005, the first "High-quality" pipe I ever bought. It was about the time I switched over from the cheap aromatics offered in town to the few tins of Aperitif, 3-Year Matured VA, and Davidoff Scottish Mixture offered at the local...

    Dunhill Latakia

Does anyone know what type of Latakia (ie Cyprian or Syrian) Murray's used in their Dunhill blends? When I seriously got into pipe smoking I was really into Aperitif, Nightcap, and 965, but this was before I discovered VA blends and moved to them (over which time Orlik took over at Dunhill)...

Wanted: Pics of Your Smoking Dens/Man Caves

Not sure if you can tell from the photo but it's actually a pattern cloth. A friend and I discovered it at Wal-Mart one time at about 3 in the morning, at that time it was a stock cloth pattern (not sure if they still have it or not). I think it cost me $4. Makes a great addition to a smoking...

Wanted: Pics of Your Smoking Dens/Man Caves

Ugh, I can't imagine drinking that stuff that warm :pale: It's drinkable when really cold, but once it nears room temp that's it! Maybe the recipe was different enough then that you could drink it warm.
