    Dunhill Group Sizes

I find the Dunhill sizing to be very useful in a general sense. It is about the only sizing standard I know of. I smoke mostly grp 4 and up, and have found sizing to be fairly consistent. My favorite size the last few years is a grp5. I have half dozen Dunhill 5s, and they all have a .75 ID...

    Corncobs

Have read that pipes were made of most any wood available. One reference book I read said the first semblance of a pipe was Indians who dug a small hole in the ground, lined it with damp leaves, then filled it with tobacco and inserted a long reed into the ground to intersect with the bottom of...

Input needed. What do you think about this pipe-

Looks like the LBs he makes, and suspect it is from that stock. I have a LB bulldog with a horn stem, and it is an excellent smoker. Don't know what your concern is with length, but at the temp tobacco burns, you mouth can't tell the difference in 1 1/4 in. shorter than you prefer.

    My AeroBilliard

I am not a fan of system pipes, in general, have thought they always create a mess where there would otherwise be none. I saw these, and upon reading several comments, thought I might like one. Your comments about muting flavors has me rethinking that though. Still on the fence on these.

    Lost A Smoking Spot

I smoke mostly at home, I own it and do as I please there. I don't frequent establishments that don't support me.

    Standard Mixture.

Dunhill Standard I presume. A very nice Oriental, as is EMP. Not the crude lat bombs that many market in this range.

G&H scented and unscented dark flake?

Casing is how most tobacco flavorings are applied. The topping just adds an extra heavy dose of what is already there.

    Squeaky/stuck tenons

I just use some fine sandpaper, it is a permanent fix.

    Another pipe dedication thread

My experience, a tobacco always smokes best in a dedicated pipe.

Pipes that whistles when I blow in it

No expert here, but whistling is an airway problem, they shouldn't do it.

    What are you smoking?

Irish Flake in an old gold A Ascorti.

G&H scented and unscented dark flake?

One of my favorites is Dark Flake Unscented. Unscented is just cased, the scented is cased and topped. Both have signiificant floral.
