Wish it was for better reasons, but the pipes came quick and are in great shape. Thanks!

In that case, I'd bring an empty Samsonite to fill.

How should I evaluate a new carver's work?

I found this video educational as a noob, but who knows. Shape, finish, drilling, shank, stem, etc. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HKe0GXEiNjE" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" allowfullscreen ></iframe>

"The Ketchup Smell" - McClelland Red Va Blends

As a Pittsburgh native I have to point out - it's spelled Heinz.

    Red Cake substitute

As a noob, I can't tell if it's a forum wide joke, or a hang up that gets discussed a lot. Not sure if that McConell's tracks with Red Cake, but it's worth a shot. Red Cake is certainly cased as well. I've wondered about the Wessex Red Flake, but that's not a bulk.

    Nording Keystone Pipes

When I was starting with aros years ago, I used those keystones at the bottom of a briar, and they did help a good bit. Don't know about the pipes. Simple Man is selling one for a great price with keystones in his sale thread.

I fear this may be a stupid question.

I asked something similar, there was good info: https://www.brothersofbriar.com/t29429-maybe-an-odd-silly-question-bowl-shapes-and-tobacco

    Practically bomb proof.

    McClelland 2045

I assumed you would have, I was just wondering. I'll need to try it again - but it was certainly different. I think the topping stands out a little extra, because it's a mild smoke with no star players in the blend, so my brain focused on the topping. I attribute that to lack of experience...

    McClelland 2045

I'm good. I'm wondering if the 2045 made it into a scented baggie for shipping....... :dunno:
