    House of Calabash

I highly recommend his blends and visiting his shop if your in the area. His prices are probably a result of Oregon taxes. They are about what we pay per oz here in California, definitely due to taxes!

    Relationship of Water and Aging

I am not a burley smoker by choice. I bought some cans of tobacco at a estate sale a few months ago. As near as I can tell the tobac is 40+ years old. It is veeeery dry! The la still smells smokey after all these years. It does not appear to have lost the esters. I have not tried it. But...

A cool "Sorry Bro" gift from a Brother...

Hey Kayle! You are just used to the goopy taste that accumulates in the shank of an all briar pipe. I find that the tobac burns down to the bottom in the Viking also. Rarely happens in a wood pipe for me. "shrug"

The rack is now in its new home!

There is a rack that looks like it is the same on Smokingpipes.com. Not sure if it is a lazy susan. It is out of stock.

That rotating rack is a nice addition. Is that something that is available and who carries them?

    Non-aromatics for an aromatic lover?

Two blends that I have tried are GLP Union Square (a Virginia) and Dunhill Early Morning Pipe (a mild English). US has a good room note BTW. It also should be sipped slowly as most VAs should. Have you mastered the slow sipping as yet? I am sure others will be here shortly. Enjoy! :pirat:

Well Zack, you can use the hiking poles when you reach a lofty age. I thought that they were geeky when my companions insisted I use some. They save my knees and have kept me upright many a time. I hike in the Sierra Nevada doing 8-15 mile day hikes and at least one 7 day outing each year. I...

    Speaking of racks

Wow! I have been keeping an eye out for that type of smoking stand. That is a beauty. Where did you find it? In an ad or at an antique store? :bounce:

    Seltzer Water

Hello Joe, I got interested in the mesh covered soda siphons and picked up two. I have one which is complete but the valve will not work. I could not find any parts to repair it. They are nice to look at and I can put a modern valve head from one I got at William Sanoma the aluminum bottle kind...

    Nic Hit

Monbia Yes it does. But , as I understand it , the blood sugar level drops very fast. It is like a sugar high and crash.

    Nic Hit

Hombre: I don't know whether nic hits you more on an empty stomache or not. Answer: You Bet! An effect of nicotine is to drop your blood sugar. If you are wozey, a hard candy is a remedy. But, it is best to have a good meal before smoking a strong tobacco. :affraid:

    Recommendations 4 Outside smoking Tobac?

I have never found the flavors in tobacco smoking outside like I do while indoors. I usually smoke English or Va/ Oriental tobacco. Many of us smoke outdoors only to appease SWMBO. Anyone have a handle on good blends for this situation? :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
