    What are you smoking?

I've devised by and for myself an insane mix that is turning out to be a surprisingly pleasing concoction. I think I shall name AllYaMugs. It consists of 3 parts Sutliff's Edward G. Robinson Pipe Blend, 3 parts C&D Yale Mixture, 3 parts H&H Classic Burley Kake, 2 parts GLP Maltese Falcon - and...

Pipes you just never quite bonded with...

I think that, being a clencher, it was not a good idea in retrospect that I acquired a couple of group 6s in the Savinelli Hercules line, a billiard and a poker/cherrywood. Noir Madness

One of Anthony Mann's best noir films. I first watched this as a kid in the 50s as part of a double-bill in a second-run moviehouse. In the scene where Basehart extracts the bullet himself, I could "feel" the pain in his face. I think that scene was "emulated" in No Country For Old Men.

    Favorite VaPer?

For a long time, ET Dunbar has been my favorite VaPer. In the last few months, however, Comoy's Cask #7 has become my go-to in this category. This is a good thing, as I've found that overfocusing on one tobacco in any category gets me into a rut, which becomes "aversion therapy" and I grow to...
