    GBD Virgin Lovat Restoration

My father has been in the hospital all week and today, he headed to a nursing home, so it's been a tough week for everyone.  I worked off some nervous energy this morning, and restored this GBD Virgin Lovat (Shape 9457).  It didn't take much work, but it felt good to focus on something...

    PETERSON Supreme

I prefer the Sterling vs 14k gold band Supreme's, they're a little more subtle.

    PETERSON Supreme

A Supreme grade Peterson is a very good thing, way up the Pete food chain. They are usually hallmark banded as well (always?) Show us a picture!

    Savory's Agryll Restoratoin

I find the stem work on most seconds pipes to be lacking, particularly GBD and Comoys. (Pre-molded, plasticky, etc) . First line pipes from those two are still reasonable, so I quit searching for the seconds. However, the stem on this one really impressed me.

    Sasieni Sashar 982R questions?

That pretty much sums it up for the Sashar, not a lot was written about that sub-brand. Here's one that I've worked in recently, a 929R https://rebornpipes.com/2016/12/19/sasieni-sashar-restoration/

Walter Becker of Steely Dan has left us

Becker unfortunately had a period in his life dominated by drugs and alcohol, I guess that has to take a toll. Most of the stars that have passed in an early age had similar stories.

Walter Becker of Steely Dan has left us

That was sad news to hear today. I had forgotten that Becker was originally the bassist and then morphed into guitar. I just downloaded "11 Tracks of Whack). I have all of Fagens solo stuff, but none from Becker. We have a four hour car ride home on Tuesday, I'll use that opportunity to...

    Peterson P-lip

It's an acquired taste for sure. I said the same as you early on. But, after finding a few higher grade, pre-Republic pipes with vulcanite P-lip stems, my opinion changed 180 degrees. Now there are times where I prefer a P-lip Peterson.

    For the Bicycle folks

Pretty cool, I also love these old promo movies. A bit sad too. The opening reminded me of the famous sign on the bridge into Trenton, NJ, "Trenton Makes, the World Takes"...that hasn't happened in three or four decades.

    Inhereted Pipe Heirloom...

F&T is the stamp for a shop that was in London, Fribourg & Treyer. The "Reject" stamp makes them of little value to pipe collectors. Your age estimate could be correct, this shop was stared in 1720 and lasted into the 1970's. Like most London shops, their pipes were made by someone else. Show a...

    1952 Dunhill LBS Restoration

I met some buddies from the Lehigh Valley Pipe Club the other night, in Bethlehem PA. One member sent me home with his '52 Dunhill Tanshell birth-year pipe that needed restoration. I really enjoyed working on this pipe. The blast and stem work is beautiful. Here's the Reborn Pipes write up...

    BBB "1847-1947 Centenary" Bullcap

As a kid growing up in the late 60's, early 70's, I spent hours window shopping the Herters catalog! A few years ago, I found one at an flea market. They did indeed sell everything, including tobacco pipes. I'm sure some English company made them, like Disney, etc. I still have my "Herters"...

    BBB "1847-1947 Centenary" Bullcap

I picked up this "1847-1947 BBB Centenary" pipe a few weeks ago, it was finally delivered and restored.    I found exactly zero information about these pipes. Here's the Reborn Pipes blog entry: https://rebornpipes.com/2017/07/09/bbb-centenary-bullcap-restored/ I was worried the stem might...

    How was your weather today?

We've had over 7" of rain in the past 48 hours here in Western MD. That's more than we had in all of June. My plants/bushes & grass are grateful.
