When you pass through the "Pearly Gates"...

My wife has directions to send all to one particular pipe shop with a note of thanks for a lifetime of pleasure. If she goes before me, well, I cross that bridge then.

    Your favorite ARO

Captain Black Red Sky (tin). Just plain enjoy the cherry flavor. Some time ago I posted a listing of sherry blends I tried. Red Sky is actually tied with a few others. Sine I am only allowed one blend, I won't mention those other names or IRC Three Star Blue. I really prefer Va and...

    I Don't Get It

Maybe they finally got a "wet noodle" readily available. As said before, it is usually a dip pen or a nibmeister project. Not for the casual user and everyday writing! Odds are the nib would get messed up. For those with Spencerian skills however...

End of Tax Free Online Shopping

If they just collect the state sales tax (one rate), it will be somewhat simple. If all the local taxes (state plus county and city) are to be collected, it will be a nightmare. Kept simple, it will level the playing field. No, I don't like taxes any more than you probably do. but it will be...

Any Sonnet fountain pen users out there ?

You are not alone! I bought a gold (color) Sonnet in the late 90s. It is great to write with.

    Hydrating Tobacco

Has anyone used Boveda for maintaining humidity for pipe tobacco? I use them in my cigar humidor, and wonder what relative humidity is right for pipe tobacco.

    Pipe rack rant

I posted this a while ago. Here's hoping it makes sense. You can get fancy or keep it simple. *** Basically, this is a rack that will hold the pipes in such a way that they stick out at you - like you are speaking to someone clenching a pipe in their teeth. Where these really shine is with...

    Pipe rack rant

Check out round racks. They spread out a bit more. P&C had some low priced one (Wood ware? can't recall the name), but I no longer see them on the site. The Decatur round one is nice looking, but I wish they would eliminate the jar in the middle. I ordered one from Dan tobacco years ago that...

    Pipe Art

Stick nailed it. Make sure your 'baccy wasn't tinned by Timothy Leary.

All Things Must Pass....But Why THEM?

Having recently retired myself, I cannot blame them. More power to them! I have a motley collection of about a dozen tins left. I never super-stocked, as I never expected the brand to disappear. (Lesson learned.) I just bought a few tins when I saw a sale. Oh well... At least there are some...

So what age exactly is a Senior Citizen?

Beats me. When I hear that someone is 65, I think that is old until realize that it is just five years away.   All relative.  It's not the years; it's the miles. And if it will get me a discount, I'm a senior! (And a cheap one...)

The rumor must be correct !

Well, you guys put this on the internet, so it MUST be true. There is never any disinformation on the web.

Gone the way of the Dodo?

Maybe they will restock with LPs. What's old is new. :o

    Who smokes Macanudos?

I enjoyed both (sample of one each...) and will have them again. Black is a fuller smoke and quite good. White is more mild and could be compared to Oliva CT reserve. Per my taste buds. YMMV

    Brigham rock maple filters

I use the filters in my one Brigham. As mentioned above, it helps with moisture. Then the pipe cools, I pull it out and let it air dry. I use a filter for perhaps ten smokes. Where it shines next to say, a Savinelli filter, is that a pipe cleaner can pass through.

    Now eating peanut M&M's

I always shake my head when I see the little bars and bags marked "Fun Size." In my opinion, the fun size for M&Ms (plain!) would be the five pound bag. Second place for me is Milky Way followed by York Or Junior Mints. Gee thanks. Thankfully, none of these are within reach.

I went antique shopping today and came away with this...

If you open it, do so carefully. The tin may have value.

    Marmite!

I have never had Marmite, but I have tried Vegemite. Not bad, but not something I will look for, although I can se ethe attraction. Probably an acquired taste. A while back, for some reason I had a small jar (like a sample) and gave it to a co-worker who was raised in Oz. He dug in with his...
