    What are you listening to?

Listening to Wilco's newest album, "Shmilco". The whole album is available on Youtube to listen to. I'm definitely digging it. If you are a Wilco fan be sure to check it out.

    Looking for some feed back.

What about adding in a corn cob pipe and cleaners to make it a full set? Its always fun getting a complete set of something. Make it a clean 30 bucks and there you go.

    A question about Nepal

A little update on the Nepal adventure I mentioned I was planning a while back for anyone interested. I work at an international school located in Korea and my favorite part of being a teacher is organizing and leading trips overseas for my students. This year, thanks to being the principal, I...

    Dunhill Tobaccos Doomed

Well being situated in Asia and regularly travelling between Japan, China and Korea I see Dunhill everywhere because its an ubiquitous brand here.  Their chunk in the cigarette market is huge...at any mart Dunhill cigs take up 1/3 of the the cigarette rack and the counter area is plastered with...

    General Check In For Everyone!

Anyong Haseyo from South Korea. Doing great here. Enjoyed a terrific New Years Day by going surfing at dawn to catch the sunrise. Waves were nice and the sky was clear. The sun was a giant orange orb rising out of the sea. Then after lunch went sailing with my family out of the local bay...

    Great Hanukkah gift

NICE! I looovveee the Cuban H.Upmanns.  I've only had the Petit Coronas and a few tubos so far but man were they fine.  Punch is a go-to brand for me but H. Upmann and Partagas are next in line. Kennedy had good taste indeed. That must have been a happy moment receiving that box.  To me...

    Large Canadians, the pipe kind

I just wanted to gaze at your pipes (my pipe budget is more in the corn cob range). They're some of the nicest I've seen. Love the bands on them. I know you are retired but seems to me you've finally found your calling. Stellar!

    How was your weather today?

14 degrees C in Seoul. Very strange. Was walking around in a shirt looking at all the down filled parkas for sale in the shop windows. Glad I didnt need one.

Those pipes look awesome. You are a talented artisan. Do you have a webpage for your pipe sales?

    A Successful Concoction

Me neither Mister E. But there is some kind of topping that I can't really make out. I assume it is coffee and that coffee when smoked doesn't taste the same as when drank. I wasn't really impressed by the Gold Block on its own. I guess Capstan, McClelland and SG forged my standard for...

    A Successful Concoction

Lonecoyote, this too was aged...about a year. I had thrown a bunch in an empty tin and forgotten about it. The colors had all mellowed to a deep dark brown and the tin note was just pure tobacco. My new favorite blend for sure. Bone dry it all is but seems to work for this.

    A Successful Concoction

Wow! I'm getting to the bottom here and I'm for the first time tasting the nuttiness many refer to with burleys. Its like a rich hazelnut flavor. If you try it I suggest packing it super tight and sipping slow. And be sure to dry out the Gold Brick to the same dryness as the semois. Happy...

    A Successful Concoction

2/3 Semois 1/3 Wessex Gold Brick The coffee topped straight virginia of the Gold Brick goes very nicely with the cigar note of the Semois burley. If you have these 2 constituents give it a try. Very cigar like. Cheers all!

What brands of British pipes should we have?

What about Blakemar Briars? They have a really nice assortment of traditional English shapes and their prices are nice too. I almost never see them mentioned though. I'm thinking about getting one soon. Maybe the Woodstock.

    Peterson Christmas Pipe 2016

    Mini-pipe vs. Half bowls

Thanks for the replies mates. Incorporating what you guys have said what I will do is this. Avoid the mini pipe which may give a hot smoke..especially with an aluminum stem. Then as opposed to half bowls fill the bowl well full...smoke half and then DGT it and smoke the next half later...
