    Mad magazine is stopping

Gone the way of the dodo like so many things from my youth. I'll always have fond memories of MAD but in this day and age I really can't see them being able to survive. It was a simpler time and I will miss it. Jim

    In my hour of Mourning

Seriously upset over your loss (snicker, snicker) sounds like you have found a few new friends to help you cope. The big question is what was on the tasting menu for some really amazing rums??? I'm sure they must have had some special items that we will never see in the states. Jim

    Our corpse flower

They are spectacular to see but I will pass on the aroma. I worked with enough rotting corpses in my job I really don't need to relive the smell. I will be keeping an eye on the flower cam though. Thanks for the heads up! Jim

    Old Dark Fired rehydration project.

Newpiper, in regards to something portable that will keep a day's worth of tobacco moist. I have in the past used old dip cans that friends were finished with. Not advisable if the flavor contamination bugs you. However in most convenience stores they sell powdered jerky in the same sort of...

    Charred pipe rims...need advice

Actual char is pardon my French a bitch to get rid of requiring topping the bowl. If you're talking just carbon deposited by the smoke and flame the best way to remove it is as mentioned spit. On really tough jobs I'll use Everclear and a brush. I've not noticed any real problems with this...
