Inquiry: Anyone interested in DUNHILL or GH&Co for $3/oz+s/h

Mods: if this is the wrong place feel free to move it! Ennerdale, BB#2, Brown flake scented, Dark Flake (either way), Brown Boggie ($3.50/oz). Would you pay that + $3 s/h for these tobaccos? I have a friend who can order whole boxes for cheap, but I don't need that much. I thought if I spread...

Weestminster, Mass. to ban sales of all tobacco products?

This. If gov gives you healthcare, they have every right to run your life to make you be healthy.

Sad state of my local B&M situation

It's a chicken and egg thing. My guess is that before people started buying online, pipesmoking was just not prevalent enough for a local store to make enough money from it to pay rent. I'm guessing it's not so much about all the pipesmokers buying online as there aren't enough pipe smokers. But...

    Favorite blends of low renown?

I was referring to DTRC. Stockton sounds interesting. I should probably try it some time. Re: PS, the VALC always bites me, too. I like Amsterdam and Natural Dutch Cavendish alright, though! English Oriental Supreme was something I remember liking, but it's been a few years. They are not the...

    Favorite blends of low renown?

I don't really like that one. It's not bad, but it bites me, and I think ODF, Dark Twist, etc. are better.

    Favorite blends of low renown?

I've been trying to grab more VA-Turk blends. I got some McC 2020 (little latakia in it) and some C&D Orion's Arrow (a good bit of Perique, too). They're pretty good! I also have samples of McC Arcadia and a tin of C&D Sunday picnic to try!

    Favorite blends of low renown?

I think GH&Co. aren't as universally well-liked as I think they should be. I have been exploring some of their flavored stuff (Ennerdale, Kendal Flake, BB#2), and I like it, though I hate most aromatics. But I also really like Brown Flake US and Bright CR Flake which are one the purer end of the...

    HELP!!!!Broken Tenon

Definitely send a nice pipe off for proper repair. But if you've got a cheaper pipe and are on a budget, I've done this a few times for myself and friends: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-KC4Ek9CaRE" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" allowfullscreen ></iframe>

    First dip into McClelland's 5100

If you're wanting to get further along the spectrum from bright and cheery to dark and sultry, try the 2035. It's great!

    759 Match

I wonder if the fact that clones are lighter on latakia may be due to the nature of cloning long-gone tobaccos. If you have an aged sample to compare when trying to blend fresh, the character of the latakia will have toned down, so you'll use less latakia to get the same character of the aged...

If you could smoke only one blend....

I can't answer. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

I should note that I have only smoked one tinned VA by McC. I usually buy bulk, and the prices of even McC bluk are a bit steep, so I've stayed away from their tinned blends.

2015 is VERY highly regarded if you like some perique in your VAs. I have some but haven't sampled yet. (too many blends, too little time).

Or get some 2035. I think that blend is under-appreciated. It's my favorite McC VA, although 5100 is nice, too.

    Weber Streamliner Restoration

I think I've got a non-briar version of that shape. I'll have to see if I can dig it up. Edit: I found it. It's made of something probably similar to the MM Hardwood pipes, but it's a Streamliner. It's been smoked and the stem is a bit oxidized, but it's in good shape. Anyone want it?

OH MY GOD! HH Bold Kentucky

The two or so bowls of Pegasus I've had fresh have been Burley forward, unoticable amount of BC, and enough VA sweetness to make it not too earthy/harsh to enjoy (for my palate). Maybe I'll fire up a bowl tomorrow morning! Yes to this. DFK is Burley based, but the curing makes a HUGE...

I have come to enjoy 5100 (bought a 1/2 lb with my last order) and 2035, but I still think the Brit VAs are the best. Most recently I've grabbed GH&Co's Bright CR Flake which is lighter and brighter, and Brown Flake U/S, which has a little Burley in it, but BBF is probably my favorite tobacco. I...

Burley Round Up - What do you like and why?

Epiphany is definitely good. I'm finding I like some good VA mixed in myself.

Burley Round Up - What do you like and why?

I think a lot of C&D blends need some age to take the edge off. I have liked it so far. I think C&D burley tends to be more earthy than nutty.
