Is there a shortage of certain pipe tobacco?

Plexzepiper, You can have all the Mix 79 all for yourself. I am working on buying all the rest of the good ones myself

    Waning enthusiasm

I live in Texas, near Houston so I know hot and humid as well! I find switching to a good aromatic such as Dan Sweet Vanilla Honeydew or Pipeworks and Wilkes #191 helps in the heat. They just seem to be more cooling. I also tend to the English blends and heavier blends in the winter...

    Waning enthusiasm

When this happens to me i switch the type of tobacco I smoke to an extreme. It either makes me jump out of my funk or I will just enjoy the new type for awhile. for instance I am normally a burley type blend smoker but of late I have been enjoying mixes like Dan's Sweet Vanilla Honeydew. My...

    Butternut Burley

I like it as it has a great aroma and taste but it's just so darn mild I have to really puff it to taste it. Tastes like marshmallows to me.

    Prince Albert or Carter Hall?

Wow, that's a tough one. I like both. If pressed I would say CH as it is a good mixer with other blends. But I like to start my day with PA. Another good one is Five Brothers, I usually end my day with it.

Have you tried Petersons Irish Flake? I about died and went to heaven when I smoked it for the first time this week. By far the best flake I ever had!

Anybody in or near N. Houston, Conroe Area

Hi, Im new here but have smoked the pipe 39 years. I now have no other pipers that I know and was just wondering if anybody here is near enough to me to get together over a pipeful and coffee?

What are your favorite pipe accessories

I only use a Zippo pipe lighter that I have carried for 30 years! Somehow I have never lost it unlike pipe nails. I also, use a swiss army knife that I keep on my keychain. Still looking for a pipe tamper to keep on my keychain but closest I have found is a czech tool but they tend to rust...

    Any Brothers near East Texas?

I live on Lake Conroe not far from the Willis exit off 45 if you ever go to Houston. I'd be terribly boring for you as I am retired and an old codger but I have smoked the pipe for 39 years and would be glad to share my experience and a bowl of tobacco with you sometime.

PA in a Dorwick apple bent...

I need to start doing this, I am not a camera buff so I don't think to do this unless I am going to sell on eBay. I just don't think to do this but I will the next one I restore.

    Prince Albert

This tobacco is also biteless and makes a good all day smoke. It almost smokes itself it stays lit so well and burns all the way to the bottom. Breaks in and builds cake well too. Good stuff!

    Pipeworks & Wilke

It may be a cultural thing but as fellow Texan, I find Carole to be moody and not easy to work with myself. First off she does not have a shop, she operates in a above the garage apartment. She sold the shop when her father died. I won't do business with her myself, I want my vender to treat...

    online ordering

I am finding most B and M stores are either head shops or cigar outlets and noone in the stores knows anything about pipes anymore. A lot of the tins have gone stale and I never have this problem online. I eBay pipes or buy them at antique stores or estate sales and restore them. I do a lot...

    New Tabacs

The Rev is a class act! I like his tobaccos a lot and he has great estate pipes at a good price. He will bend over backwards to deal with you and make you happy. A very good seller and his shipping is very reasonable as well.

For My Haters!.....This One's For You!....

Uh...I will smoke almost any tobacco and love them all to a degree but I don't know if I would WANT to have 15lbs of Mix 79. I do have an oz. I keep around for the occational bowl. I do keep about 10 lbs of Five Brothers, PA, and CH around though at all times.

    Very generous Brothers

As a new member I love reading about good acts. I have had acts of generocity on other forums and always try to pay it forward. I find pipers to be the best of people.
