WHY WOULD ANYONE PAY $500 OR MORE FOR THIS?

This pipe maker is one of the finest I have ever seen. Since his name hasn't been mentioned, I won't publish it either. But IMO this is not a pipe, it's a dowel with a hole in it!!!! Same goes for those Cigar shaped pipes. I'll smoke a cigar anytime, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend good...

    Heya Fellas!

Great photo Zach. I've always been told that marriage is a 60-40 proposition. Each party has to do their 60%. Back in the 1960's my future father-in-law told me he'd give me $2,000. to run off and elope. I should've taken his offer because the wedding cost him a hell of a lot more than that and...

    Help!! Pre Republic (1949) Peterson?????

I am not sure about the date that the Dublin & London series of Peterson's pipes came into being, but if it is a pre-Republic pipe the nomenclature will read "Made in Ireland". If it is not, it will read "Made in the Republic of Ireland". What I do know is that the Dublin & London series are...

request recommendations for Syrian Latakia blends

Personally I wouldn't call Wilderness a Latakia forward blend!!! It is a very mellow muted Latakia flavor that is reminiscent of much older aged blends IMO. For a full blast Latakia I would probably recommend Dunhill 965 or a similar blend. Head over to tobaccoreviews.com and peruse the site for...

    Mike Brissett

Mark, Thanks for the news of Mike's passing. I will now treasure the pipe that he made even more in his memory. It's nice to see you posting here, just wish it was under more pleasant circumstances. I hope all is well with You and Yours. Hopefully your cellar is full of Walnut blend. Andy C

    Jim's Belated Anniversary Announcement.

Congrats Jim on the anniversary of pipe smoking and thanks for the information on your career as a cartoonist/artist. I'll be tuning in on the radio show soon to hear the broadcast for sure. As for pipe smoking I got into the art when I graduated high school in 1965 and working in a music...

    What are you smoking?

Enjoying a bowl of MacBaren Dark Twist in a Peterson Rosslare shape 408. A steamy day here in Maine but it sure as hell beats the alternative of winter. AC

WHAT'S THE ODDS? Never Mind, I was Wrong!

Ron, I may be wrong, as usual, but I believe that logo to be ASP alt.smokers.pipes which is or was a pipe forum/website. I used to visit that site on occasion but it is very inactive and has been for a long time. That may be a pipe that they commissioned some years ago. Andy
