    Back to Kenya

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My wife and I have been in the States for about 7 weeks now. We head back to Kenya in 1 week from tomorrow. We have also signed on for two more years of service in Nairobi. It is always a hard thing leaving family and friends behind over and over again. I don't...

    Jim's GLP Renaissance Reserve Review.

The craziness of the "hoard" and what not kept me from snagging a tin.

    Get Dunbar here.

Germain is what I like and it's harder to get, in my opinion. I wouldn't buy because I can't, but I never see it up for long anyway.

C&D Carolina Red Flake - RECALLED

It certainly has to be widespread for a full recall.

More on the new FDA regulations.

http://www.fda.gov/TobaccoProducts/Labeling/ProductsIngredientsComponents/ucm482580.htm The link above insinuates that pipes will also be regulated. Another interesting, albeit bogus statistic: What type of pipes? What goes in those pipes? I'm willing to bet it isn't tobacco.

    Pipe Tobacco From 2007 Onward

I'd be happy to do this if they would actually ship it to Kenya without putting a value on it. Kenyan Customs charges whatever the value is on the package. For instance, a family member buys you a $100 AppleTV as a gift and ships it to you, putting the full value on the customs form; you, then...

    Pipe Tobacco From 2007 Onward

When putting up the initial list, I remembered Magnum O coming out in 2010, or so I thought. I haven't seen anything to discredit that original memory as of yet.. As said, if anyone does find one that is wrong, adjust the list.

I've never had BD from Rattray's, but I have always wanted to try it. The sad part is that Bagpiper's Dream barely misses the mark, as I believe it was released Mar/Apr of 2007. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me so I can adjust the list. All of Seattle Pipe Club's offerings are worth...

An experiment, and would like to solicit advice.

+1 Esoterica blends are blended differently than everything else out there. I'd leave their delicate balance intact if it were me, and I would do what Blackhorse suggests.

Same... This also means that there likely would be no new blends from Greg, which in and of itself is saddening. I'd love to hear his thoughts as well. Perhaps he will chime in. The good news is that most of his stuff come in 8 oz tins at a great price, so it is fairly easy to stock up.

It's more of a hunch, I suppose. I'm, of course, assuming all pipe tobacco will have to have proper packaging approved by FDA. Hoping I'm wrong. The hunch has more or less to do with being able to sale pipe tobacco that is not packaged (kind of like not being able to sell single cigarettes)...

    Pipe Tobacco From 2007 Onward

Here is a tentative list: Post 2007 Tobacco. I have made it editable by anyone, which I will change eventually. Most of this was done by memory, which is why many of the dates are uncertain. Nevertheless, even though many are missing dates, I am fairly confident they came after 2007. Blends...

That most likely, albeit unfortunately, answers our question. So, Mac Baren and others who have released new blends in the last 9 years will also be affected, though I think some of their blends are only for the US market, no?

    Pipe Tobacco From 2007 Onward

My guess, and it really is a guess, is that they would still be required to pay the application fee for FDA to approve it. Are imported goods subject to FDA approval, such as things from international supermarkets? If another government's approval of a product suffices, then it is possible the...

    Our Best Blend

I've talked with Premal about this before. His words were "highly unlikely," if I remember correctly. It was the best of their offerings, but the rest of their stuff are still some of the best stuff around. If you haven't tried their other blends, buy 1 tin of each, sit back, and enjoy.

    Pipe Tobacco From 2007 Onward

You're most definitely correct. I do not think this is the tobaccopocalypse. I am simply compiling a list of 2007 onward blends for myself and possibly others. I can't afford to stock up on anything, let alone tobacco, but I do plan on buying a few more tins of some favorites this summer just in...
