    Help me pick a pipe.

OK, I worked for the last 3 weeks and assuming have a little cash left after getting Christmas taken care of for the kids & old lady, I'm looking at getting a piece of briar. I'm liking my Omega and despite the bent shape it is my best smoker and I like the way it hangs so I'm looking at full...

Irish Whisky vs American or Canadian

What they (and Xeno) said. Evan Williams is GREAT for the price. Simple but like the man said "it's cheap and tastes great" VERY smooth. The ABC here sometimes has killer specials on half gallon jugs around Christmas. The Jim Beam stuff isn't bad. When I'm feeling rich I prefer Maker's Mark...

    Newbie burn question.

Been getting my technique down. Just had a great smoke. PA Choice Blend in my Grabow Omega. Lit easy. Burned down so cool. Got almost all the way down the bowl tamping as I went and it was sweet and nutty and pleasant the whole way, LIKE CANDY! It seems to me with PA if you don't get it warm...

    What are you smoking?

PA Choice Blend in an old Grabow Omega w/ Budweiser. Smokes great, tastes like CANDY!

    Newbie burn question.

Thanks for all the advice. Smoking is much improved. I was packing the bowl a little too loosely and not tamping enough. Still have to relight some at the bottom third of the bowl (to keep it lit all around) but it at least it burns most all of the tobacco now.

    A Small Celebration.

Enjoying a bowl of C&D Burley Flake #2 on the porch (in my old yet not quite broken in Grabow Golden Duke) in with a cold Budweiser. Got a new gig this week (haven't worked since April). It's a contract deal so no bennies or anything like that. It's temporary, but possibly a lot of very...

    Newbie burn question.

What he said. I also was only tamping twice maybe three times a bowl under the (apparently mistaken) assumption that the less I messed in it the better off it would be. Thanks!

    Newbie burn question.

I can get it lit all the way around just gets smaller as it burns down I guess. I'll work on packing and tamping techniques. Thanks everyone for all the info.
