save your dottle on each smoke--then smoke the dottle--Holmes did this for every morning pipe-- i have actually tried it--not all that bad--but then my tastes may be suspect??

yes, that's my take also--and since i'm almost always in the mood for burley, almost any pipe will work, but bulldogs usually win--

OJK in a Zodiac-- a pipe i had never heard of in 1971 when i bought it, and have never seen one since--smokes a bit damp, but not really a gurgler--for it's price (had to have been under $20) it does a decent job--

not much on any freehand, panels, or bamboo-- i like mostly the 'classic' shapes--of those, the dublin and churchwarden have never appealed to me--(having said that, i do own two dublins) my favorite has to be the bulldog--prefer bents mostly--and i do like Oom Pauls--

all my cobs save one are bents--the loner is a Pride-- the Spool, the Egg, and the Diplomat are my favorites--the Gentleman is no slouch either--cobs and burley are a match made in heaven--
