    eBay account hack

Sadly I doubt anyone wiuld take the time to make up a false ebay packing slip just for fun. ?

    eBay account hack

Yep. No priors with the seller. And an eBay packing slip with my name & address. Ebay needs to step up its security game.

    eBay account hack

There should be no way for a seller to get access to names & addresses of other ebayers in the absence of a sale.

    eBay account hack

Found myself in an interesting position today. I picked up a mystery parcel at the post office. Turns out it contained a pipe from an eBay seller. Only problem was I hadn't bid, won or paid for this item!  The parcel and enclosed packing slip had my full name and address...

    Brigham rock maple filters

As a guy with more than 40 Brigham pipes in the rack, I think the rock maple filters are quite useful. They don't impede air flow at all, and are very effective at extracting excess moisture from the smokestream. As has already been mentioned, they can also be washed (rinse under running water &...

    A world turned upside down

Thanks for the update, Jim. Thinking about you folks.

    Top 10 favorite blends

I seem to go through Flavours of the Month that seem to depend on temperature & mood - the colder it gets, the bigger the baccy, though at a certain point I give up and stay indoors. :D Right now I'm reaching for MacBaren Golden Extra Solani ABF MacBaren HH Vintage Syrian Orlik Dark Strong...

    A world turned upside down

Adding my good vibes to the chorus above. A very difficult time for the entire family; hang in there, Jim.

    Hi all, from Canada

Good to see another Canadian on the forum, Konrad. Welcome! I'm in Kitchener, ON, so not too far away. :D

GL Pease Temple Bar - yummy!

Was gifted a tin of GL Pease Temple Bar, which I cracked open today. It's a mix of red and light VA's, Orientals and Perique. I haven't had much luck with VaPers, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but I really enjoyed it! It's Virginia-forward, which shouldn't shock anyone, so...

    Been Here 10 Years

Happy anniversary, Puffy! That's a heck of a long time to be hanging around anywhere nowadays! :)

Where, oh where, have the Burley Flakes gone?

If there's anything added to Golden Extra is it a very very light cocoa/dark chocolate. I honestly wonder if there's anything there or not.

    Pipe racks

If you're even halfways handy, a pipe rack is a great quick project to DIY. I've built several for myself over the years. For those with 2 left thumbs, I recommend scanning the thrift shops - I've picked up about 6 pipe racks of various sizes for less than $5 each this way.

I can get behind that sentiment!

Where, oh where, have the Burley Flakes gone?

We're on the same page, D&B. ? I'll add some of each to my supply to cover the bases. Right now I've got more GE on hand so I'll save the ABF as a special treat.

Where, oh where, have the Burley Flakes gone?

Cracked open a tin of Mac Baren's Golden Extra and am really enjoying it! Tin note is very close to ABF and flavour is similar too, though not quite as smooth. GE comes as a broken flake, mine was the perfect moisture level straight from the tin, and is less than half the price of ABF. I may...

    gap between shank and stem

I'm with Slowroll on this one. Give the pipes a good cleaning, especially in the mortise/airway. I'm betting good money that there is a buildup of tars and other goodies stopping the tenon from seating completely in the mortise. I'll often use the square end of a needle file to scrape the...

    Happy Birthday Ontariopiper

Thanks Jim. The ladies stretched the day into an entire weekend. Feeling spoiled - and glad they can only do that once a year! ?

    Made another chimney...

Nice! I may have to pop the lid on a tin of Chocolate Flake now, though I don't have a REAL Chimney to smoke it in. A tall Poker will have to suffice for mow. :D
