    Margate or Pembroke?

I've got a large supply of both and I'm definitely preferring Margate, but was wondering how you guys liked them.

    Another Penzance topic

Well I had a pretty lengthy review written up until my phone decided to act up and kill my browser... Anyway, I liked it a lot. Not a life changing holy grail, but I'm glad I have it. It may be that I haven't had enough but it doesn't seem to have a distinct flavor like say Margate which I can...

    Another Penzance topic

I think I'm gonna go with dividing the bag betweeen some jars and starting off with that. Yeah I definitely bought it to smoke, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot though I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't parallel a booze experience I had a while back. Worked at a liquor store and bought a...

    Another Penzance topic

Yeah I know there's quite a few already, but my question is a little different. Okay so I shelled out $40 for a sealed eBay tin from 2005 and then later in the week found an 8oz bag thanks to a recent tipoff that's a few topics down. Figured I'd be lucky to find any and now I've got quite a...

Anyone had a tobacco become really salty?

Yeah "briney" fits perfectly! I've tasted it a bit on Margate as well but figured that it was my pipe still having a ghost in it. Glad someone else experienced this.

    Troost pipe tobacco attracts hornets.

That's funny, the same thing happened to me at work with a bowl of Tillbury. Couldn't get the thing to leave me alone, it was aggressive.

Anyone had a tobacco become really salty?

    Hello from Juneau, Ak

If I ever run into it again, I'll mail somebody a sample. As it is though I can still tell a bit in my pipe despite a really intense cleaning and multiple smokes with different tobacco. I'm sure it spoiled in some strange way, it's the only theory that makes sense to me...

Anyone had a tobacco become really salty?

I dunno, even within the first puff it was so salty I could feel it shriveling my tongue and it wasn't packed very tight... Maybe it spoiled somehow or wasn't mixed together well and that was pure latakia I was smoking by the bottom of the tin? It was strange because what had been a flavorful...

Anyone had a tobacco become really salty?

I bought a tin of Esoterica's And So To Bed and around the final third of my tin maybe a month after purchase the tobacco which had been pretty good suuddenly became basically unsmokable, it tasted like I had filled my pipe with a cube of salt or something. I figured that it must have been my...

    Penzance, Squadron Leader available

I was super excited until it said the minimum I could pay in shipping is $28. I hate being in Alaska sometimes :(

    Hello from Juneau, Ak

Oh I guess I should give some sort of smoking background as well. I like darker cigars when I can afford em, Partagas are probably my favorites at the moment but I'm missing the huge cigar selections that I had before moving up here - a few shops with cases but no more walk-in humidors. I...
