IMHO unsightly and depending on how bad the oxidation (at least in my experience) it can affect the taste while smoking. Not so much the flavor of the blend but more the taste of the stem against your lips.

I get mine at the local grocery store. Whenever they have them in stock I end up grabbing two or three boxes because it seems like they are always running out of stock.

I would second the suggestions concerning Vauen pipes. They have a wide price range and all the ones I have purchased through the years have all been good smokers.

When I was in the Marshall Islands in the late seventies the local pub (the Snake Pit) had a small kitchen that a Marshallese guy would cook for us. One of the favorites was Spam, cabbage, carrots, onions over rice. Stir fried with soy sauce.

I use to love Red Robbins teriyaki burger with lettuce and a slice of pineapple along with their steak fries. I probably go out three or for times a week to some of the local ma and pa diners for either breakfast or lunch, then I'm good for the day. Average cost probably $11 a trip.
