Wife bought me a Pilot Custom 823 Amber fountain pen (one of my grail things) for the milestone birthday. And we went “downtown” to a snooty hotel…an overnighter stay…and had one of the best dinners ever at a snooty restaurant.

Congrats on both. Never thought of you as snooty but glad you enjoyed the dinner. Will be joining you on the 75th birthday in 4 months. 42nd anniversary? Nope. I'll be dead by then, lol.
Congratulations on 3/4 of a century and almost 1/2 century. I'm about to hit 42 in March so, you have been married longer than I have been alive lol

Also, I hear exactly what you seem to be saying with the t-shirt.
Taking absolutely nothing away from your achievements, I will add: I do not feel old, myself. I know that time has passed, sure, and the young people seem to have odd obsessions. Still, it can't be much past, oh, let's see, what year would it have been when I was about 30 - 35? That seems about right. It must be about then.
If it is the same for you, I would understand that a 42nd wedding anniversary would be disconcerting.

As the official luckiest man in the world, I am constantly surprised we’ve been together this long. She’s my favorite person, and I’d rather be here at home with her than anywhere else.
