Getting quiet around here, so lets have a contest. She Who Must Be Obeyed and I have been cashing in our change jars and started a fund for our 25th anniversary/honeymoon, (the day after we got married we moved to Muncie Indiana, as I began teaching there the following week, and for some odd reason she does not consider Muncie to be the honeymoon capital of the world, go figure?). So, the pix below (same pix, two angles) is a pile of pennies (and there were about a dozen dimes mixed into the pennies) a roll or nickles, and a little red piggy-bank crammed full of dimes. I included my Brier Brian pipe to give you some idea of scale, as if the coins themselves aren't enough.

Who ever is closest to the total value of all the loot in the pile (sans the pipe) will win a bunch (defined by me, but I'm sure you'll like it) of good, mostly aged tobacco. The only caveats are I can't ship them internationally (sorry, I love the international aspect of our board, but too often they never arrive) but you can name a "local" BoB to receive the bootee, and you only get one guess. I'll leave it open for say, ten days. So at midnight, Central Standard Time on July 15th it's over.

PS, that may actually be enough coin to go to Muncie.....
Although I loved teaching at Ball State, the town of Muncie has all the ambiance of it's name! Notice the way that beautiful name rolls off the palate, Muuunnnnccieeee, kind of sums it all up.

If I ran the city council, I'd change the name to Happy Dale, or Greenville, or something that has a positive sound to it.

Actually, it was a fine little town with some great bars around campus. Just nothing to do hiking, packing, canoeing wise, but good cycling.

$ 33.33 (presuming there are not any non-U.S. coins hidden in the pile !!!!!!!!)

Damn...I know you've got some good baccy stored away too.

Using my ultra scientific and precise WAG method of calculation, I approximate the monetary value of said pile at $15.23 USD, or 10.8832 EUR just to get a few more decimal places of accuracy.

$18.88 according to my ciphering.....
