Greetings to all. I am glad I found this forum as it has already helped me get me entrenched in this exciting microcosm.
I find myself in the frigid land of Chicago (after living for the past ten years in South Carolina) and decided after reading a little Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that I needed a hobby. After winning a nice sized kitty from fantasy football, I splurged on a Peterson Bent Billiard at Iwan Ries & Co. on Wabash. The guys there recommended their house blend English Full to get me started based on what I told them about what flavors I liked.
You can see me light up as I leave Union Station and walk to work in River North... a 2 mile jaunt that is perfect for about 3/4ths of a pipeful.
I have already learned a few tricks from lurking on the site, and just picked up a couple more pipes so I can have a nice rotation and let the pipes dry for a good 2 days or more.
I cant wait til the weather turns nice so I can start grilling outside with a pipe in my mouth and a cold beer in my hand.
Also, I have made a decision to stick to my B&M shop as long as they are still around.... god knows what the politicians in this state will do next. Worth the extra few bucks to keep them around.
