So I was preparing to go outside and have a pipe and a nice chat with my better half which left me with a bit of a quandry. She much preferrs that I smoke aromatics and I was hankering for something a little more meaty.

So I came up with the brilliant ideaa to mix Boswell Berry Cobbler with Tambolaca.

It ain't half bad! Berry cobbler with a kick. :affraid:

Are you nuts?

Yes, but that's beside the point.

Actually that doesn't sound too bad.

How was the room note? Even though you were outside, how did she like the smell?

Nope! :D

I've done the same with different "social tobaccos" as the mixer. You get the flavor and strength. They, in turn, are reminded of their grandpa who used to smoke a pipe. Win-win.

Best 'mixer' I've found over the years (trial-and-error) is CBW of all things. No matter what you add to it, it still smells great.

It's ok, guys. I'm aware that I left that one wide open.

That sounds like a good idea. I'm still in that "ignorance is bliss" stage of smoking. I'm only just starting to realize that pipe tobacco actually tastes good. I've only ever smoked it because it smelled good.

I almost don't want to change because as it is now, I can smoke an aromatic when I want to enjoy the smell, and enjoy a more natural tobacco when I want better taste.

I still haven't tried the batch of Tambolaka you gave me, Todd...I think Dr. T or someone also sent me a little. If from the flavor profiles I can gain some idea, mixed with some kind of Berry blend...good lord, that sounds...somewhat vile!

I still just reach for the McC FMC 2000 when I know I need a good smoke in mixed company.

My final thought is I need to just man-up and try some Tambo.
