I've been lurking this forum for a while just gaining valuable information so I figured it was about time to join in on the conversation. Started smoking a drug store yello-bole with captain black years ago and never could understand why people smoked a pipe. Darn thing wouldn't stay lit.

Picked it up again a few weeks ago and gave it another shot, after years of smoking premium cigars I figured maybe it was the same as a cigar, cheap cigars aren't my cup of tea so I invested a little more in a new pipe and tobacco. Started off this time with a Savinelli and a tin of Davidoff Danish Blend, this time my experience was much more pleasurable. I think I'll stick around. :pipe:

Welcome aboard, Dodge! Where in CT are you from?
Thanks for the welcome guys! Right over on the Cheshire/Prospect line. Nearest city on the map if you don't know that area is Waterbury.

I was hoping to run into some CT guys on here, any recommendations for pipe shops? The local B&M's only seem to carry captain black and yello-bole pipes. Anywhere in New Haven is fine too, I drive for a living so I'm around that way daily.

Dodge, it's slim pickings for B&M shops along the CT Shoreline--most are either closing or scaling back. The Owl Shop in New Haven has a lot of history but has transitioned into mostly a bar/restaurant, albeit the last one in the state where you can smoke. They only have house-brand pipes and a few random estates. But the house blends are better than average, and it's worth a visit if you're in downtown NH for some other reason. (I don't know much about tobacconists in the Waterbury area or Fairfield Co., though.)

Yeah. we'll let you on board even if you do drive a Mopar. :D
Welcome to the madhouse.

Welcome to the best place on earth. You certainly started off right with a Sav and some Davidoff.

Thanks for the B&M info Doc, I guess I'll stick to ordering online! And EJ you know what they say, MOPAR or NOCAR.

Welcome aboard! I'm near Kent, just over the State Line into NY.

PS: I really appreciate Mopar products but, I have to say I prefer Ford P-71 Interceptors over Dodge Chargers!!!! :D
It's part of my job to drive both.

I run a truck through that area for my company, if you see the pipe let me off with a warning!
