I'm cleaning up a BBB 2 Star pipe I picked up at a local antique fair this past weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone knows, or can point me to a source for finding, the production dates? Just trying to get a ballpark age for this one.

It's stamped "BBB" in a diamond, under which are two stars (asterix). The other side of the shank is stamped London Made, and a shape number, 385.  The left side of the stem is also stamped with the BBB diamond logo.

Any help tracking this down is much appreciated.

I have two of'em, have no idea as to dates. Darn good pipes. I presumed the two stars indicated a "cut above" briar. FTRPLT

Thanx for both articles. They both indicate that the 2* pipe was at the lower end of the line!! So much for my presumption!! They still smoke just fine  FTRPLT

Some low end pipes smoke better than some high end brands. As long as it is a good smoker, who cares about grading?
