In other words, do you smoke the same tobacco all of the time or do you switch blends? I found a blend that I really liked and smoked it for about 2 weeks. Now I am tired of it and want to try something different.
Do people really smoke the SAME blend ALL of the time?

I sometimes wish I had one definitive blend, as it seems it would make smoking life much easier. But I like 3-4 blends so much I rotate them out. I picked up some good samples today at the Raleigh pipe show and look forward to trying them to see if 1-2 of them might go in the rotation. It's always fun to see if there is a better blend than the ones I am smoking out there.

I must have 100 blends that are always in play! Ken
Pacem en Puffing!

Sounds about right... ah, maybe divided by 2

I've got about 20 open, some of which will never be finished. But I'm a total **** - I'll smoke anything once.

I usually have four or five open, plus a large tin of a go-to like Edgeworth, and a handful of samples in the little 2 oz Mason jars.

Occasionally I'll have a second bowl of the same blend in the same day, but usually it's a different blend each time I light up. I average two bowls a day, so in a week (14 bowls) I probably smoke 10 different blends. If I stick with the same tobacco, I find that within a few days the "novelty" has warn off and it's not as exciting as it was the first day. If I move away from if for a few days to weeks, it seems to recapture the magic during the absence.

I have about 30 quart glass jars to choose from,I really enjoy planning my
evening smoking on the drive home from work.

I'm still looking for my favorite,,,hopefully the box pass will answer a lot of questions for me,,,,

24 glass jars all with something different, plus a big ole tub of Prince Albert. I rare buy the same tin twice and smoke by the mantra that variety is the spice of life.

I am definitely a straight hitter! I like it that way! :D Been smoking the same blend now for the better part of at least 5 years!

Your just like my god father & old timers I've known & almost envy you guys.

I'm always on the quest for the next blend & pipe.

Current routine is Penzance in the morning, Escudo or Churchill during the day & #515 at night. Is this odd?

That the Holy Grail theory is a Myth.

I think those old Timers only smoked one brand because of availablitiy.....I mean- When you walk into a B&M, Who likes Everything? Now if you only had a choice of 3-4 blends...You might only smoke one brand most of the time.

But the tradition of offering your pouch to another piper came from somewhere.....

Oh I swing both ways for sure! ;) I get on a kick with a specific blend and after awhile I get bored and look for something else. Currently I'm switching between like four blends.

My "go to" is FVF, but I have alot of other stuff open that I enjoy on a regular basis.

I smoke a variety of English and Mild English blends, but dip into some Butternut Burley every few days, just for contrast. It's the only aromatic I'll smoke.

I love the variety.
I almost never smoke the same blend twice in a row.
I bought a bunch of tiny mason jars, so I can
get away with having way too many open tins.
I can try a new blend, jar half the tin in a little jar
and move to another new blend.
