Mike, Good to see you back first off. Secondly, I always enjoyed seeing what you did with the hand checkering on pipes. And last but not least, are you going to start selling your pipes?

Mike,

Thanks for the kind words. It is really nice to be back in a shop again.

For those on the forum who don't know me, I used to own and run a brick and mortar tobacco shop in Brainerd, MN called Big Lou's Back Room. Two years ago I sold the shop and moved to UT and started teaching college again. It has been a crazy two years getting settled. This summer has been the first opportunity I have had to do any kind of personal projects.

To answer your last question, yes I do plan on selling them eventually. I still need to set up a web site and carve a few pipes. If you look at the rest of the photos on my flicker page, most of those pipes were sold.

My congratulations on a handsome pipe. You have a real talent. A fiddle playing friend of mine once said, "If a man has music in him and don't let it out, he's sinning." I would (with some reservation, not knowing your circumstances) suggest that a man who can carve pipes and doesn't is sinning. Hope to see more from you in the future. :pipe:

Unless, perhaps, that "music making" was getting in the way of more important things. In which case, the reverse might be true. ;-)
