Bamboo time

Was visiting the website of Pipemaker Sam Adebayo one day and he had a photo of stuff on his bench. There was one that caught my eye that was Dublinesque in appearance and I asked if it was for a commission or was it already gone.

Sam answered me telling me he thought it might be a good candidate for a bamboo shank and that it wasn't spoken for. I told him if he got some chocolate brown bamboo in I'd be interested in the pipe.

It was about six months later I got an email from Sam and he'd mounted a 4 knuckle chocolate brown bamboo shank to the stummel and sent a photo asking if this was something I'd be interested in and I immediately said I would. A couple of weeks passed a a photo of the finished pipe came and I paid for it immediately.

Here I am keeping it smokey with some Mac Baren Dark Flake and it's mighty tasty.

Very different indeed, I'm not a bamboo fan in general but you have " two " which were well designed. Awesome shape of the bowl on this pipe.

That is another awesome pipe Banjo! Its really mesmerizing,  and this is coming from a guy that doesn't usually dig bamboo pipes. Keep that puppy smokey brother.

Gotta get me some o' that chocolate bamboo! Just LOVE it and you had amazing foresight to envision it as the perfect shank for that bowl. Gorgeous pipe

I’ve been not in the best shape to spend much time with a pipe, the few times I’ve been out have been with cobs. My recent bout is still giving me grief but I’m still checking in on occasion here just not posting much, I’ll be back!

Bamboo shanked pipes are pretty much all I make as I just like the look of bamboo. That is a really well done pipe!!
