Picked up this Leonessa at my local pipe shop last week and thought it was a Bent Apple Sitter.  It is smooth on the very bottom.

After a little research, I'm confused.  I was looking at this chart:

I can't really find a lot of info on the web about them, but they are considered a budget pipe so I'm not too surprised.  It must be an older model, because none of the online shops carry this shape or finish.  Do any of you have any experience with this brand?  Also, for a pipe to be considered a sitter, does it have to be able to sit with the stem suspended in air or just not tilt over while resting on the stem?  This particular pipe does not have enough weight at the bowl to keep it from tipping back.
Thanks for the help,

Feels a little more like a brandy to me due to the top tapering off, but realistically the apple could be "hidden" in the stem work. Nice pipe either way, congratulations

Shapes can be difficult to define beyond the classics that really adhere to what we're used to seeing in the charts. To me I don't see your pipe (which I like a lot congrats!) as an apple but maybe an egg? The angles aren't quite right but builders and manufacturers put their own spin on things even the classic designs, which is cool of course.

I'd say bent brandy... But shapes can be interpreted differently and I would say whatever you think it is... It is!

Pipe shapes are often a judgment call. I'd call it a bent brandy. The most important thing, of course, is to smoke it with enjoyment. :D
