My 1st day in BoB. Just learning my way around. I am a novice to Pipe Smoking. I have loved Pipes and the scent most of my life. I used to be a cigarette smoker, but broke myself of that on 5 August 2002. I recently decided however, to try my hand at Pipe Smoking for no other reason than curiosity. I am currently smoking a Missouri Meerschaum cob pipe. I was gifted some Sample tobacco by a friend and Pipemaker Joe Dee of J Dees Pipes. He sent me some Seattle Pipe Club's Mississippi River - a smooth, medium blend of pressed red and stoved Virginia tobaccos with a unique balance of Louisiana Perique and Cyprian Latakia, which makes this krumble kake tobacco a complex and rich smoke with a lovely sweet finish that lingers nicely on the palate.

I am awaiting the arrival of a new pipe, my first Briar, from Tim Tibbles, another Pipemaker friend. He is creating a lovely pipe for me a Freehand Churchwarden Briar. When I figure out how to post a picture in here I will certainly share it...

Ok that's enough from me for now...

Welcome to the brotherhood. You'll find just what you need right here.

Welcome aboard. I can speak from experience that this is a great place for beginners.

Howdy ya'll !! Remember to use the K.I.S.S. principle in your pipe smoking and it will be simple !!

Welcome, and I must say you're off to a grand start. Alas, with me, it was Middleton's Cherry in a Medico, and no BoB or anything else.

Welcome about Big D!

And for me it was Middleton's Cherry in a Grabow at the start, with no clue and no coach. Good times

Welcome big D. Great bunch here, feel free to chime in anytime.

Crikey, I managed to miss your arrival, lamentable over sight there, welcome to BoB. :sunny:

Belated welcome to the brotherhood. There's a lot of great info for beginners in the boards that can be a sort of pipe mentor, if need be. I hope you enjoy your time here
