I love Briar calabashes. I drool over the ones tom Eltang makes, I have been drooling over the tonni nielsen over at pulversbriar.com. the problem is that they are not cheap! for that kind of money I want a pipe that smokes well. I once bought an Aldo velani Briar calabash and it was not good. I was wondering if the more expensive smoke good? any one willing to share their experiences with Briar calabashes?

Go with a Ser Jacopo, they have the curved drilling down to a science and they look damned nice :D

I appreciate the offer winslow, but I have one just like it in red! I think I meant hollow-bodied calabashes and if there was airloss with the highend ones ( 4 figures ).

I have a briar calabash with removeable bowl,a Radice. The problem for me is that the
tobacco chamber is small,3/4x1 1/2".I prefer larger.They don't leak any great degree,cork
gasket is not 100% but close to it.When I sit down with a pipe like that I want a long smoke
and you don't get it due to capacity.I paid $300 new for mine.
